Clothing treatment apparatus

Abstract

The present invention relates to a laundry treatment apparatus capable of, prior to an input to an execution part for executing a course, detecting a laundry amount, and externally displaying guidance related to the laundry amount.

         15 . A laundry treating apparatus comprising:
 a cabinet that defines an opening;   a door coupled to the cabinet and configured to open and close the opening;   a locker configured to lock the door to the cabinet and to unlock the door from the cabinet;   a drum disposed inside the cabinet and configured to accommodate laundry;   a motor connected to the drum and configured to rotate the drum;   a display portion disposed on the cabinet to display information; and   a power portion disposed on the cabinet to receive a command to supply power,   wherein the motor is provided to rotate the drum in state that the locker unlocks the door, and   wherein the display portion is provided to recommend a course corresponding to a weight of the laundry or display a necessary notice after the drum begins to rotate.   
     
     
         16 . The laundry treating apparatus of  claim 15 , wherein the display portion is configured to display the recommended course or the notice while the door is unlocked. 
     
     
         17 . The laundry treating apparatus of  claim 15 , wherein, the display portion is configured to, based on the weight of the laundry being less than a weight range corresponding to a standard course, display a speed course as the recommended course, the speed course having a shorter execution time than the standard course. 
     
     
         18 . The laundry treating apparatus of  claim 15 , wherein further comprises a manipulation unit that receives a selection command for selecting a course among a plurality of courses, and
 wherein the display portion is configured to, based on the selected course not matching the weight of the laundry, display the recommended course corresponding to the weight of the laundry.   
     
     
         19 . The laundry treating apparatus of  claim 18 , wherein the display portion is configured to, based on receiving the selection command for selecting a speed course that has a shorter execution time than a standard course while the weight of the laundry corresponds to the standard course, display the notice recommending selection of the standard course. 
     
     
         20 . The laundry treating apparatus of  claim 18 , further comprising a tub disposed in the cabinet and configured to receive water, wherein the drum is rotatably accommodated in the tub,
 wherein the recommended course comprises a barrel sterilization course for sterilizing the tub or the drum, and   wherein the display portion is configured to display the notice (i) requesting withdrawal of the laundry or (ii) indicating that a performance of the barrel sterilization course is unavailable.   
     
     
         21 . The laundry treating apparatus of  claim 15 , wherein the display portion configured to, based on the laundry in the drum being wet, display the notice indicating that dehydration is recommended.

The laundry treating apparatus of  claim 15 , wherein the display portion is configured to, based on the laundry in the drum being wet, display the notice indicating that an execution time of the recommended course is adjusted to be shorter than a reference execution time. 
     
     
         23 . The laundry treating apparatus of  claim 21 , wherein the display portion is configured to, after the drum starts rotating while the door is unlocked, display whether the laundry is wet. 
     
     
         24 . The laundry treating apparatus of  claim 15 , wherein the display portion comprising:
 a display that visually represents a course for treating laundry; and   a speaker that is spaced apart from the display and configured to audibly represent the recommended course, and   wherein the speaker is configured to output a voice indicating the recommended course or the notice that is displayed on the display.   
     
     
         25 . The laundry treating apparatus of  claim 15 , further comprising:
 a manipulation portion that receives a command to select any one of courses; and   an execution portion that receives an execution command to execute the course selected by the manipulation portion,   wherein the execution portion is configured to receive the execution command while the recommended course or the notice is displayed on the display portion.   
     
     
         26 . The laundry treating apparatus of  claim 15 , wherein the display portion is configured to display the recommended course or the notice after the drum begins to rotate less than one revolution. 
     
     
         27 . The laundry treating apparatus of  claim 15 , wherein the motor is configured to rotate the drum more than one revolution after the door is locked. 
     
     
         28 . The laundry treating apparatus of  claim 15 , further comprising a sensor configured to detect whether the door is opened and closed,
 wherein the display portion is configured to, based on (i) the power portion receiving the power command or (i) the sensor detecting that the door is closed, display the recommended course or the notice.   
     
     
         29 . The laundry treating apparatus of  claim 15 , further comprises a plurality of buttons including the power portion. 
     
     
         30 . The laundry treating apparatus of  claim 29 , wherein at least one of the plurality of buttons is configured to receive an execution command for executing the recommended course or a course selected from a plurality of courses. 
     
     
         31 . The laundry treating apparatus of  claim 29 , wherein the plurality of buttons comprises a rotary knob configured to receive a selection command for selecting a course among a plurality of courses. 
     
     
         32 . The laundry treating apparatus of  claim 31 , wherein at least one of the plurality of buttons is configured to receive an execution command for executing the selected course. 
     
     
         33 . A method for controlling a laundry treating apparatus, the laundry treating apparatus including a cabinet that defines an opening, a door coupled to the cabinet and configured to open and close the opening, a locker configured to lock the door to the cabinet and to unlock the door from the cabinet, a drum disposed inside the cabinet and configured to accommodate laundry, a motor connected to the drum and configured to rotate the drum, a display configured to display information, and a controller, the method comprising:
 receiving a power command for supplying power to the controller;   controlling the motor to rotate the drum in a state in which the door in unlocked; and   based on the drum beginning to rotate, controlling the display to display (i) a recommended course corresponding to a weight of the laundry or (ii) a notice related to treatment of the laundry.   
     
     
         34 . The method of  claim 33 , wherein the recommended course or the notice is displayed while the door is unlocked.
