Abstract
A surface mounted air diverting system includes an attachment plate device having a central opening for engaging a wall mounted air supply vent. Connectors are positioned adjacent to the central opening and removably secure an air diverter device. The air diverter device includes a main body that is secured to the wall on which the air supply vent is located. The device includes an air inlet opening and a first air outlet opening along one side, and a second air outlet opening on the other side. A diverter block transitions the device between an open position and a closed position. When in the closed position, air from the supply vent is routed to the second air outlet opening, and in the open position, air from the supply vent is routed to the first air outlet opening.

1 . An air diverting system, comprising:
a main body having a front surface, a back surface a first side, a second side and an interior space; an air inlet opening that is positioned along the back surface of the main body; a first air outlet opening that is positioned along the main body adjacent to the first side; and a second air outlet opening that is positioned along the main body adjacent to the second side, wherein the interior space of the main body defines a hollow pathway configured to receive forced air from the inlet opening.
2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the air inlet opening is configured to receive forced air from a supply duct mounted on a wall.
3 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the air inlet opening is in line with the first outlet opening.
4 . The system of claim 2 , further comprising:
a mounting plate that is configured to engage the supply duct mounted on the first wall.
5 . The system of claim 4 , wherein the mounting duct includes a central opening, and wherein the supply duct is positioned within the central opening.
6 . The system of claim 5 , further comprising:
a first plurality of connectors that are disposed along the mounting plate.
7 . The system of claim 6 , further comprising:
a second plurality of connectors that are mounted along the back surface of the main body.
8 . The system of claim 7 , wherein the first plurality of connectors and the second plurality of connectors are configured to removably secure the mounting plate onto the main body.
9 . The system of claim 1 , wherein main body includes functionality for selectively discharging air received from the supply vent through one of the first air outlet opening or the second air outlet opening.
10 . The system of claim 9 , further comprising:
a diverter block that is positioned within the interior space of the main body.
11 . The system of claim 10 , wherein the diverter block is slidingly positioned within the interior space of the main body.
