Chemical and biological isolation bag
Abstract
An isolation bag for transporting objects of an unknown nature is provided. The isolation bag comprises a chemically resistant storage container, an adhesive dispensing apparatus, and a carrier. The chemically resistant storage container comprises a chemically etched portion to promote bonding with an adhesive material dispensed by the adhesive dispensing apparatus. The adhesive dispensing apparatus slides along the top of the storage container depositing adhesive and sealing the storage container. The sealed storage container is placed in a dual lined carrier. The dual lined carrier has an out an outer shell having a first color, an interior lining having a second contrasting color, and a storage pouch for receiving the storage container. In the event of a puncture, cut, or breach of the outer shell, the contrasting color of the interior lining provides an indication of the breach.

1 . An isolation system for transporting an object that contains a chemical or biological substance, the isolation system comprising:
an at least partially enclosed storage container comprising:
a storage space for holding the object; and
a sidewall having an opening that provides access to the storage space,
wherein at least a portion of the at least partially enclosed storage container comprises a chemically resistant material; and an adhesive dispensing apparatus comprising:
a selectively removable adhesive container for storing an adhesive material; and
a dispenser for dispensing the adhesive material along the opening of the sidewall of the at least partially enclosed storage container.
2 . The isolation system of claim 1 , further comprising a carrier configured to receive the at least partially enclosed storage container.
3 . The isolation system of claim 2 , wherein the carrier further comprises a dual lined case including an outer shell constructed from a first material and an interior lining constructed from a second material.
4 . The isolation system of claim 1 , wherein the adhesive material is a UV light curable glue.
5 . The isolation system of claim 1 , wherein the adhesive dispensing apparatus is configured to slide along the opening to press together a first portion of the opening and a second portion of the opening while dispensing the adhesive material along the opening to seal the opening.
6 . The isolation system of claim 1 , wherein the dispenser comprises a channel disposed within an interior of the dispenser and an adhesive spreader at least partially disposed within the channel.
7 . The isolation system of claim 1 , wherein at least a portion of the sidewall is chemically etched.
8 . An isolation system for transporting an object that has unknown characteristics, the isolation system comprising:
an at least partially enclosed storage container comprising:
a storage space for holding the object; and
a sidewall having an opening that provides access to the storage space,
wherein at least a portion of the at least partially enclosed storage container comprises a chemically resistant material; and an adhesive dispensing apparatus for sealing the at least partially enclosed storage container, the adhesive dispensing apparatus comprising:
a selectively removable adhesive container for storing an adhesive material; and
a dispenser configured to dispense the adhesive material along the opening of the sidewall of the at least partially enclosed storage container to seal the at least partially enclosed storage container, the dispenser comprising:
a neck configured to at least partially receive the selectively removable adhesive container such that the selectively removable adhesive container is removably coupled to the dispenser,
wherein the neck comprises a neck channel therethrough to fluidly couple the dispenser and the selectively removable adhesive container;
a channel disposed within an interior of the dispenser and configured to receive the adhesive material from the neck channel; and
an adhesive spreader at least partially disposed within the channel and configured to disperse the adhesive material along the opening of the sidewall of the at least partially enclosed storage container.
9 . The isolation system of claim 8 , wherein the adhesive spreader comprises a plurality of dispensing outlets fluidly coupled to the selectively removable adhesive container.
10 . The isolation system of claim 8 ,
wherein the neck further comprises threading, wherein the selectively removable adhesive container comprises a threaded end that cooperatively mates with the threading of the neck, wherein mating the threaded end of the selectively removable adhesive container to the threading of the neck couples the selectively removable adhesive container to the dispenser.
11 . The isolation system of claim 10 , wherein the neck comprises:
a superior channel having a first circumference and the threading; an inferior channel having a second circumference smaller than the first circumference, wherein the superior channel and the inferior channel are fluidly coupled; and a shelf configured to provide a stopping point for the selectively removable adhesive container and a delineation between the superior channel and the inferior channel.
12 . The isolation system of claim 8 , wherein the selectively removable adhesive container comprises a seal configured to cover an opening of the selectively removable adhesive container.
13 . The isolation system of claim 12 , wherein the dispenser further comprises a cutting tool configured to cut the seal when the selectively removable adhesive container is coupled to the dispenser.
14 . The isolation system of claim 8 , wherein the channel comprises one or more grooves configured to facilitate dispersing the adhesive material.
15 . A method of instructing insertion of an object having unknown characteristics in an isolation system, the method comprising:
providing the isolation system comprising:
an at least partially enclosed storage container comprising:
a storage space for holding the object; and
a sidewall having an opening that provides access to the storage space,
wherein at least a portion of the at least partially enclosed storage container comprises a chemically resistant material; and
an adhesive dispensing apparatus comprising:
a selectively removable adhesive container for storing an adhesive material; and
a dispenser for dispensing the adhesive material along the opening of the sidewall of the at least partially enclosed storage container;
instructing placement of the object into the at least partially enclosed storage container; and instructing sealing of the at least partially enclosed storage container with the adhesive material using the adhesive dispensing apparatus to dispense the adhesive material into the opening.
16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein sealing of the at least partially enclosed storage container comprises sliding the adhesive dispensing apparatus along the opening to press together a first portion of the opening and a second portion of the opening while dispensing the adhesive material into the opening.
17 . The method of claim 15 , further comprising instructing curing of deposited adhesive material with a curing apparatus.
18 . The method of claim 15 ,
wherein the isolation system further comprises a carrier configured to receive the at least partially enclosed storage container, wherein the method further comprises instructing placement of a sealed storage container into the carrier.
19 . The method of claim 18 , further comprising:
prior to placing the object in the at least partially enclosed storage container, instructing opening of the carrier and instructing removal of the at least partially enclosed storage container from the carrier; and prior to instructing sealing of the at least partially enclosed storage container, instructing assembly of the adhesive dispensing apparatus.
20 . The method of claim 18 , further comprising after instructing placement of the sealed storage container into the carrier, instructing closing of the carrier and wrapping and tightening one or more straps around the carrier.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
