Abstract

An exterior member includes a metal material made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy, an anodized layer formed on a surface of the metal material and including micropores; and a composite film layer of metal hydroxide and metal oxide, provided on the anodized layer at a surface side of the micropores to seal the micropores.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . An exterior member comprising;
 a metal material made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy; an anodized layer formed on a surface of the metal material and including micropores; and a composite film layer of metal hydroxide and metal oxide, provided on the anodized layer at a surface side of the micropores to seal the micropores.

         2 . The exterior member as defined in claim 1 , wherein the composite film layer includes nickel hydroxide and zirconium oxide or zirconium hydroxide.

         3 . The exterior member as defined in claim 2 , wherein the composite film layer further includes silicate.

         4 . The exterior member as defined in claim 3 , wherein the composite film layer further includes an acrylic organic substance.

         5 . The exterior member as defined in claim 1 , wherein the composite film layer has a thickness of 200 nm or more.

         6 . A method for producing an exterior member comprising:
 forming an anodized layer on a metal material made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy, the anodized layer including micropores; immersing the metal material having the anodized layer in an aqueous solution containing nickel fluoride and zircon hydrofluoric acid; and thereafter, immersing the metal material in an aqueous solution containing silicates.

         7 . The method as defined in claim 6 , wherein the aqueous solution containing the silicates includes acrylic organic matter.
