Abstract

A honeycomb body for the aftertreatment of exhaust gases from an internal combustion engine formed from a plurality of metal foils which are stacked on one another to form a layer stack and are wound around at least one center of rotation. The layer stack is formed alternatingly from smooth and at least partially structured metal foils, the metal foils have a foil width and a foil length. The width of the foils runs along the main throughflow direction of the honeycomb body from a gas inlet side to a gas outlet side, and the foil length runs transversely to this direction, wherein at least some metal foils have at least some slots which divide the respective metal foil into a plurality of segments.

         11 . A honeycomb body configured for aftertreatment of exhaust gases from an internal combustion engine, comprising:
 a plurality of metal foils stacked on one another to form a layer stack and are wound around at least one center of rotation,   wherein the layer stack is formed alternatingly from smooth and at least partially structured metal foils,   wherein each of the plurality of metal foils has a foil width and a foil length, wherein the foil width runs along a main throughflow direction of the honeycomb body from a gas inlet side to a gas outlet side, and the foil length runs transversely to the foil width,   wherein at least some of the plurality of metal foils have slots that divide a respective metal foil into a plurality of segments.   
     
     
         12 . The honeycomb body as claimed in  claim 11 , wherein the slots run parallel to the foil length. 
     
     
         13 . The honeycomb body as claimed in  claim 11 , wherein the slots are arranged parallel to one another along the foil width and the slots are spaced from one another along the foil length. 
     
     
         14 . The honeycomb body as claimed in  claim 11 , wherein a plurality of slots in a row running along the foil length are spaced from one another by a connecting piece. 
     
     
         15 . The honeycomb body as claimed in  claim 11 , wherein a plurality of slot rows are spaced from one another along the main throughflow direction. 
     
     
         16 . The honeycomb body as claimed in  claim 14 , wherein each connecting piece between the slots of a slot row has a length of 0.5 mm to 20 mm. 
     
     
         17 . The honeycomb body as claimed in  claim 16 , wherein the length of the connecting piece in a center and/or at an edge region of the metal foil is longer than the length of the connecting pieces between the center and the edge region of the metal foil. 
     
     
         18 . The honeycomb body as claimed in  claim 12 , wherein the slot width in the direction of the foil width is less than one of 2 mm and 1 mm. 
     
     
         19 . The honeycomb body as claimed in  claim 14 , wherein the slot rows are distributed unevenly along the foil width. 
     
     
         20 . The honeycomb body as claimed in  claim 14 , wherein the spacings of the slot rows in a region of the gas inlet side are different from the spacings of the slot rows on the gas outlet side. 
     
     
         21 . The honeycomb body as claimed in  claim 15 , wherein one of 1 to 20 slot rows are provided and 1 to 12 slot rows are provided. 
     
     
         22 . The honeycomb body as claimed in  claim 16 , wherein each connecting piece between the slots of the slot row has a length of 1 mm to 10 mm.
