Knife Sharpening Device with Mounting

Abstract

A knife sharpening device has a holder that has a slot for receiving a blade of a circular knife. At least one sharpening rod is pivotally mounted on the holder against the force of a spring. At least one first sharpening insert is arranged on the sharpening rod. The slot extends eccentrically into the holder transversely to a longitudinal axis of the holder. At least one additional sharpening insert is positioned on an outer side of the holder.

1 . A knife sharpening device comprising:
 a holder ( 32 ), the holder has:
 a slot ( 12 ) for receiving a blade ( 2 ) of a circular knife, and 
 at least one sharpening rod ( 15 ), the at least one sharpening rod ( 15 ) is pivotally mounted on the holder ( 32 ) against the force of a spring ( 22 ), wherein: 
   at least one first sharpening insert ( 17 ) is arranged on the sharpening rod ( 15 ), and   the slot ( 12 ) extends eccentrically into the holder ( 32 ) transversely to a longitudinal axis ( 9 ) of the holder ( 32 ), and at least one additional sharpening insert ( 27 ) is positioned on an outer side of the holder ( 32 ).   
     
     
         2 . The knife sharpening device according to  claim 1 , wherein the holder ( 32 ) comprises a housing ( 10 ) that includes at least two housing halves ( 4 ,  5 ). 
     
     
         3 . The knife sharpening device according to  claim 1 , wherein the slot ( 12 ) has one side ( 11 ) with a straight profile and a second side ( 13 ) with a curved profile. 
     
     
         4 . The knife sharpening device according to  claim 2 , wherein in the area of the side ( 11 ) with the straight profile, at least one shoulder ( 8 ) protrudes from the outer side ( 7 ) of the housing half ( 4 ,  5 ) of the holder ( 32 ). 
     
     
         5 . The knife sharpening device according to  claim 1 , wherein the additional sharpening insert ( 27 ) is a honing surface. 
     
     
         6 . The knife sharpening device according to  claim 1 , wherein the sharpening rod ( 15 ) is pivotable reversibly from a rest position ( 21 ) to a working position ( 25 ).
