Abstract
A rotating element with a cuboid body has a base, a ceiling, support elements connecting the base to the ceiling, and a translational-rotational fitting with a base plate and a rotating plate, with which the rotating element can be moved in a combined translational-rotational movement from an initial position into an open end position and back into the initial position. A positioning plate is arranged between the rotating plate and the base or the ceiling of the body. The positioning plate is fastenable to the rotating plate in different predetermined positions from one another, the predetermined positions being selected such that adjacent outer edges of the rotating element, which are located opposite the outer edges of the body and aligned at right angles to one another, lie on the imaginary boundary lines in the open end position of the rotating element.

13 . A rotating element comprising:
a cuboid body with a base, a ceiling, and supporting elements or at least one side wall connecting the base to the ceiling; a translational-rotational fitting arranged on an underside of the base or on an upper side of the ceiling, wherein the translational-rotational fitting is configured to move the rotating element in a combined translational-rotational movement from an initial position into an open end position and back into the initial position, wherein the translational-rotational fitting has a base plate and a rotating plate positively guided in translation and simultaneously in rotation relative to the base plate and is fastenable to the base or the ceiling, and wherein the rotating plate is movable relative to the base plate in such a way that the cuboid body does not cross two imaginary boundary lines formed by adjacent outer edges of the cuboid body aligned at right angles to one another in the initial position during the translational-rotational movement in a predetermined angular range of 90° or 180°; and a positioning plate arranged between the rotating plate and the base or the ceiling of the cuboid body, wherein the positioning plate is fastenable to the rotating plate in different predetermined positions, wherein the different predetermined positions are selected such that, with or without a panel attached to the body, adjacent outer edges of the rotating element lying opposite the adjacent outer edges of the body and aligned at right angles to one another lie on the imaginary boundary lines in the open end position of the rotating element, wherein the panel is selected from a set of panels with predetermined material thicknesses such that a width or depth of the rotating element is changed by the panel selected from the set of panels.

The rotating element of claim 13 , wherein the positioning plate or the rotating plate has a plurality of holes configured to receive bolts or screws to fix the positioning plate relative to the rotating plate to one another in a particular position depending on presence of the panel or depending on the predetermined material thickness of the panel.
15 . The rotating element of claim 13 , wherein the positioning plate or the rotating plate has a plurality of latching receptacles configured to receive at least one bolt in one of the plurality of latching receptacles to fix the positioning plate relative to the rotating plate to one another in a matching position depending on the material thickness of the panel.
16 . The rotating element of claim 13 , wherein the positioning plate is integrated in the body.
17 . The rotating element of claim 13 , wherein the positioning plate has at least one mounting groove into which a bolt projecting from the base or the ceiling is insertable or latchable.
18 . The rotating element of claim 13 , wherein at least one side edge of the rotating plate, the positioning plate and the base or the ceiling lying one on top of the other is enclosed by a profile.
19 . The rotating element of claim 18 , wherein the profile has a receptacle on an inner side of a middle wall, into which a latching lug formed on a lateral elevation of the positioning plate projects.
20 . The rotating element of claim 13 , wherein a rotational component of the movement between the initial position and the open end position is 90° or 180°.
21 . A piece of furniture comprising:
a furniture body; and a rotating furniture element rotatably mounted in the furniture body, wherein the furniture element comprises
a cuboid body with a base, a ceiling, and supporting elements or at least one side wall connecting the base to the ceiling;
a translational-rotational fitting arranged on an underside of the base or on an upper side of the ceiling, wherein the translational-rotational fitting is configured to move the rotating element in a combined translational-rotational movement from an initial position into an open end position and back into the initial position, wherein the translational-rotational fitting has a base plate and a rotating plate positively guided in translation and simultaneously in rotation relative to the base plate and is fastenable to the base or the ceiling, and wherein the rotating plate is movable relative to the base plate in such a way that the cuboid body does not cross two imaginary boundary lines formed by adjacent outer edges of the cuboid body aligned at right angles to one another in the initial position during the translational-rotational movement in a predetermined angular range of 90° or 180°; and
a positioning plate arranged between the rotating plate and the base or the ceiling of the cuboid body,
wherein the positioning plate is fastenable to the rotating plate in different predetermined positions,
wherein the different predetermined positions are selected such that, with or without a panel attached to the body, adjacent outer edges of the rotating element lying opposite the adjacent outer edges of the body and aligned at right angles to one another lie on the imaginary boundary lines in the open end position of the rotating element,
wherein the panel is selected from a set of panels with predetermined material thicknesses such that a width or depth of the rotating element is changed by the panel selected from the set of panels.
22 . The piece of furniture of claim 21 , wherein at least one further furniture element is arranged adjacent to the furniture element, wherein one of outer edges of the rotating furniture element lying opposite outer edges of the cuboid body is aligned with a front surface of the further furniture element in the initial position of the rotating furniture element.
23 . The piece of furniture of claim 22 , wherein when the panel is arranged on a front side of the rotating furniture element and another panel is arranged on a front side of the body of the further furniture element, the predetermined material thickness of the panel of the rotating furniture element corresponds to a material thickness of the another panel of the further furniture element.
24 . A method for positioning a translational-rotational fitting of a rotating element, which comprises a cuboid body with a base, a ceiling, and supporting elements or at least one side wall connecting the base to the ceiling, and a translational-rotational fitting arranged on an underside of the base or on an upper side of the ceiling, wherein the translational-rotational fitting is configured to move the rotating element in a combined translational-rotational movement from an initial position into an open end position and back into the initial position, wherein the translational-rotational fitting has a base plate and a rotating plate positively guided in translation and simultaneously in rotation relative to the base plate and is fastenable to the base or the ceiling, and wherein the rotating plate is movable relative to the base plate in such a way that the cuboid body does not cross two imaginary boundary lines formed by adjacent outer edges of the cuboid body aligned at right angles to one another in the initial position during the translational-rotational movement in a predetermined angular range of 90° or 180°, on the base or the ceiling of the body, wherein a width and depth of the cuboid body is equal to a width and depth of the base and the ceiling, the method comprising:
selecting one or more panel with predetermined material thickness;
entering the width and depth of the cuboid body and the material thickness of the one or more panels in a computer program;
checking whether the selected one or more panels for the cuboid body are within a predetermined material thickness range;
calculating coordinates of holes to be drilled in the base or ceiling responsive to the checking being positive;
inserting the holes at the calculated coordinates of the base or the ceiling; and
