Abstract
A curved trimming profile device forms an elongated curved aperture shaped to border a portion of the ear. The device is placed in an area over the user's ear with the hair in need of a trim being pressed between the device and the user's skin. The device forms an aperture allowing a razor or clipper blades to reach hair on the scalp under the device through the aperture. The razor or clipper blades travel along the surface of the user's skin, guided by the aperture, to trim hair along the line and within the area of the aperture. The device may be used on either ear.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . Apparatus for trimming hair on a skull around an ear comprising:
a curved trimming profile configured to contact a user's skull and shaped to border a portion of the ear, the curved trimming profile having an inner guide portion configured to be placed on the skull adjacent to the ear, and an outer guide portion configured to be placed on the skull further from the ear than the inner guide portion; wherein the inner guide portion and the outer guide portion define an elongated curved aperture between them; wherein the inner guide portion and the outer guide portion are connected at two ends of the elongated curved aperture; and wherein the curved trimming profile is sized and configured to allow a clipper blade to pass through the elongated curved aperture to contact the skull and to trim hair on the skull within an area defined by the elongated curved aperture.
2 . The apparatus of claim 1 further comprising multiple curved trimming profiles of different sizes.
3 . The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the curved trimming profile further comprises a first grip area configured to allow the user to hold the curved trimming profile while the clipper blade clips hair within the elongated curved aperture.
4 . The apparatus of claim 3 further comprising a second grip area, and wherein the first grip area is disposed at one end of the elongated curved aperture and the second grip area is disposed at another end of the elongated curved aperture.
5 . The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the curved trimming profile is sized and configured to be held in place by the ear while the clipper blade clips hair within the elongated curved aperture.
6 . The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising a detachment point at each end of the elongated curved aperture such that the inner guide portion and the outer guide portion may be partially or fully separated with respect to each other.
7 . The apparatus of claim 6 wherein the detachment points are configured to allow the elongated curved aperture to be widened or narrowed by moving the inner guide portion and the outer guide portion apart or together respectively.
8 . The apparatus of claim 7 wherein the detachment points each comprise a post on one of either the inner guide portion and the outer guide portion, and a recess sized to adjoin with the post on the other of the inner guide portion and the outer guide portion.
9 . The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising a rotation point at one end of the elongated curved aperture such that the inner guide portion and the outer guide portion may be rotated apart and together with respect to each other.
10 . The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the inner guide portion and the outer guide portion are permanently attached and immovable with respect to each other.
11 . Apparatus for trimming hair on a skull around an ear comprising:
A single-piece fixed curved trimming profile configured to contact a user's skull and shaped to border a portion of the ear, the curved trimming profile defining an elongated curved aperture; wherein the elongated curved aperture is sized and configured to allow a clipper blade to pass through the elongated curved aperture to contact the skull and to trim hair on the skull within an area defined by the elongated curved aperture.
12 . The apparatus of claim 11 wherein the curved trimming profile further comprises a first grip area configured to allow the user to hold the curved trimming profile while the clipper blade clips hair within the elongated curved aperture.
13 . The apparatus of claim 12 further comprising a second grip area, and wherein the first grip area is disposed at one end of the elongated curved aperture and the second grip area is disposed at another end of the elongated curved aperture.
14 . The apparatus of claim 11 wherein the curved trimming profile is sized and configured to be held in place by the ear while the clipper blade clips hair within the elongated curved aperture.
15 . Apparatus for trimming hair on a skull around an ear comprising:
a curved trimming profile configured to contact a user's skull and shaped to border a portion of the ear, the curved trimming profile having an inner guide portion configured to be placed on the skull adjacent to the ear, and an outer guide portion configured to be placed on the skull further from the ear than the inner guide portion; wherein the inner guide portion and the outer guide portion define an elongated curved aperture between them; wherein the inner guide portion and the outer guide portion are connected at two ends of the elongated curved aperture with adjustable connections; wherein the adjustable connections allow the inner guide portion and the outer guide portion to be moved closer together and further apart in order to change the size of the elongated curved aperture; and wherein the curved trimming profile is sized and configured to allow a clipper blade to pass through the elongated curved aperture to contact the skull and to trim hair on the skull within an area defined by the elongated curved aperture.
16 . The apparatus of claim 15 wherein the adjustable connections each comprise a post on one of either the inner guide portion and the outer guide portion, and a recess sized to adjoin with the post on the other of the inner guide portion and the outer guide portion.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
