Abstract

A golf disc retriever device comprising a frame, a movable upper jaw, a lower jaw, and a pole fastener. The device enables the capture of the golf disc with the movable upper jaw removably catching the golf disc between the movable upper jaw and the lower jaw. The purposeful positioning of the movable upper jaw to limit the movement of the movable upper jaw and the shape of the frame captures the golf disc as the golf disc tilts as the golf disc is elevated off the ground. The present invention also comprises a pole fastener to fasten the present invention to a pole or elongated handle at varying angles which allow the user the ability to easily pick up a disc from difficult to reach locations.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A golf disc retriever device comprising,
 a frame, said frame further comprising,
 an upper member including a first open end;
 a lower member being generally parallel to the upper member;
 an angled member connected to the upper member; and
 a vertical member being generally perpendicular to the upper and lower members and connected to the angled and lower members;
   a movable upper jaw, said upper jaw being a generally rectangular tab including a free and attached end, said attached end attached to the upper member via a hinge, said hinge being fastened to the upper member and upper jaw via a plurality of jaw fasteners, said fasteners comprising a nut and bolt, rivet, or the like; a lower jaw, said lower jaw extending at a slight upward angle from the lower member and extending beyond the open end of the upper jaw; and a pole fastener.

         2 . The golf disc retriever device of claim 1 , wherein the frame comprises light weight material such as aluminum or high impact plastic, said material further capable of being molded or bent into shape and having thickness and width capable of sliding under a golf disc for capturing and being sufficiently strong to capture a golf disc.

         3 . The golf disc retriever device of claim 1 , wherein the frame further comprises a pole fastener slot, said slot comprising an opening starting on the vertical member and extending upward along the angled member, the slot attaching to the pole fastener via a bolt, nut, and wing nut or similar fastening means.

         4 . The golf disc retriever device of claim 1 , wherein the lower jaw is coated in a gripping material such as rubber or the like, said material assisting the user in grabbing a golf disc with the device.

         5 . The golf disc retriever device of claim 1 , said device configured to allow the user to capture and pick up a golf disc by,
 attaching the frame to a pole or other elongated handle and using the pole fastener slot to choose the desired angle; positioning the lower jaw below the golf disc so that the disc edge is substantially between the upper member and the lower member; translating the disc along the ground by pulling the present invention with the lower jaw grabbing the golf disc; and raising the golf disc off the ground, whereby the disc will tilt due to gravity with the lower jaw acting as a fulcrum, and the top side of the disc will be caught by the movable upper jaw, halting the continuation of tilting and thereby capturing the golf disc.
