Parcel storage device
Abstract
A parcel storage device includes a collapsible frame that has a base and a plurality of legs movably attached to the base. A lid is attached to the plurality of legs of the collapsible frame and a drop plate is hingedly integrated into the lid. The drop plate is biased into a closed position and the drop plate is urgeable into an open position to facilitate a parcel to pass through the lid when the parcel is positioned on the drop plate. A shroud is coupled between the base and the lid which defines a storage area to conceal the parcel. A plurality of fingers is each pivotally attached to the lid and extends across the drop plate. Each of the plurality of fingers is urgeable into a downward position to facilitate the parcel to pass into the storage area.

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A parcel storage device for securely storing a parcel until an intended recipient can retrieve the parcel, said device comprising:
a collapsible frame having a base and a plurality of legs being movably attached to said base, said plurality of leg being positionable in a deployed position having said plurality of legs extending upwardly from said base, said plurality of legs being positionable in a collapsed position having said plurality of legs being folded onto said base; a lid being attached to said plurality of legs of said collapsible frame, said lid being spaced upwardly from said base when said legs are in said deployed position, said lid being positioned next to said base when said legs are in said stored position, said lid having a drop plate being hingedly integrated into said lid, said drop plate being biased into a closed position, said drop plate being urgeable into an open position wherein said drop plate is configured to facilitate a parcel to pass through said lid when the parcel is positioned on said drop plate; a shroud being coupled between said base and said lid such that said base and said lid and said shroud defines a storage area wherein said storage area is configured to conceal the parcel when the parcel is dropped through said lid; and a plurality of fingers, each of said fingers being pivotally attached to said lid, each of said fingers being oriented to extend over and across said drop plate of said lid, each of said plurality of fingers being biased into a horizontal position wherein said plurality of fingers is configured to restrict access to said storage area, each of said plurality of fingers being urgeable into a downward position wherein said plurality of fingers is configured to facilitate the parcel to pass into said storage area.
2 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein:
each of said plurality of legs has a bottom end and a top end; each of said plurality of legs comprises a first section being pivotally attached to a second section; said bottom end is associated with said first section; said top end is associated with said second section; said bottom end of each of said plurality of legs is pivotally attached to a top surface of said base; each of said plurality of legs is aligned with a respective one of four corners of said base; each of said first section and said second section of a respective one of said legs is oriented collinear with each when said respective leg is in said deployed position; and said first section and said second section of said respective leg lies on said top surface of said base when said respective leg is in said stored position.
3 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein:
said lid has perimeter wall which has a bottom edge and a top edge; a top end of each of said plurality of legs is pivotally attached to said bottom edge of said perimeter wall; said lid has a lip extending inwardly from an inwardly facing surface of said perimeter wall, said lip extending around a full perimeter of said perimeter wall having said lip being aligned with said top edge of said perimeter wall such that said lip defines an opening in said lid; and said drop plate has a rear edge being pivotally coupled to said inwardly facing surface of a respective one of a plurality of intersecting sides of said perimeter wall, said drop plate being aligned with said bottom edge of said perimeter wall.
4 . The device according to claim 3 , wherein said shroud has a lower edge and an upper edge, said shroud being attached to an exterior surface of said base at a point located adjacent to said lower edge, said upper edge being coupled to said bottom edge of said perimeter wall of said lid.
5 . The device according to claim 3 , wherein:
each of said fingers has a first end and a second end; said first end of each of said plurality of fingers is pivotally coupled to said inwardly facing surface of said perimeter wall of said lid; and each of said plurality of fingers being curved between said first end and said second end such that each of said plurality of fingers arches upwardly when said plurality of fingers is in said horizontal position.
6 . The device according to claim 3 , wherein:
said plurality of fingers includes a set of first fingers and a second of second fingers; each of said first fingers is positioned on a first lateral side of said perimeter wall of said lid; and each of said second fingers is positioned on a second lateral side of said perimeter wall of said lid.

The device according to claim 3 , further comprising a tether anchor being coupled to said lid thereby facilitating said tether anchor to be secured to a tether for securing said lid and said collapsible frame and said base to a pre-determined location, said tether anchor arching away from an outwardly facing surface of said perimeter wall of said lid at a point aligned with a respective one of four corners of said perimeter wall.
8 . A parcel storage device for securely storing a parcel until an intended recipient can retrieve the parcel, said device comprising:
a collapsible frame having a base and a plurality of legs being movably attached to said base, said plurality of leg being positionable in a deployed position having said plurality of legs extending upwardly from said base, said plurality of legs being positionable in a collapsed position having said plurality of legs being folded onto said base, each of said plurality of legs having a bottom end and a top end, each of said plurality of legs comprising a first section being pivotally attached to a second section, said bottom end being associated with said first section, said top end being associated with said second section, said bottom end of each of said plurality of legs being pivotally attached to a top surface of said base, each of said plurality of legs being aligned with a respective one of four corners of said base, each of said first section and said second section of a respective one of said legs being oriented collinear with each when said respective leg is in said deployed position, said first section and said second section of said respective leg lying on said top surface of said base when said respective leg is in said stored position; a lid being attached to said plurality of legs of said collapsible frame, said lid being spaced upwardly from said base when said legs are in said deployed position, said lid being positioned next to said base when said legs are in said stored position, said lid having a drop plate being hingedly integrated into said lid, said drop plate being biased into a closed position, said drop plate being urgeable into an open position wherein said drop plate is configured to facilitate a parcel to pass through said lid when the parcel is positioned on said drop plate, said lid having perimeter wall which has a bottom edge and a top edge, said top end of each of said plurality of legs being pivotally attached to said bottom edge of said perimeter wall, said lid having a lip extending inwardly from an inwardly facing surface of said perimeter wall, said lip extending around a full perimeter of said perimeter wall having said lip being aligned with said top edge of said perimeter wall such that said lip defines an opening in said lid, said drop plate having a rear edge being pivotally coupled to said inwardly facing surface of a respective one of a plurality of intersecting sides of said perimeter wall, said drop plate being aligned with said bottom edge of said perimeter wall; a shroud being coupled between said base and said lid such that said base and said lid and said shroud defines a storage area wherein said storage area is configured to conceal the parcel when the parcel is dropped through said lid, said shroud having a lower edge and an upper edge, said shroud being attached to an exterior surface of said base at a point located adjacent to said lower edge, said upper edge being coupled to said bottom edge of said perimeter wall of said lid; a plurality of fingers, each of said fingers being pivotally attached to said lid, each of said fingers being oriented to extend over and across said drop plate of said lid, each of said plurality of fingers being biased into a horizontal position wherein said plurality of fingers is configured to restrict access to said storage area, each of said plurality of fingers being urgeable into a downward position wherein said plurality of fingers is configured to facilitate the parcel to pass into said storage area, each of said fingers having a first end and a second end, said first end of each of said plurality of fingers being pivotally coupled to said inwardly facing surface of said perimeter wall of said lid, each of said plurality of fingers being curved between said first end and said second end such that each of said plurality of fingers arches upwardly when said plurality of fingers is in said horizontal position, said plurality of fingers including a set of first fingers and a second of second fingers, each of said first fingers being positioned on a first lateral side of said perimeter wall, each of said second fingers being positioned on a second lateral side of said perimeter wall; and a tether anchor being coupled to said lid thereby facilitating said tether anchor to be secured to a tether for securing said lid and said collapsible frame and said base to a pre-determined location, said tether anchor arching away from an outwardly facing surface of said perimeter wall of said lid at a point aligned with a respective one of four corners of said perimeter wall.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
