Contoured Body Pillow

Abstract

A contoured body pillow comprising two rounded sections that are generally droplet-shaped, converging to join at a neck. The sections are able to rotate laterally in comparison to each other around the neck. The resulting configuration is a body pillow that is versatile and adaptable, and optimised for the body's natural contours and positionings. Additionally, certain embodiments include a compartment for a heat source, offering enhanced comfort and therapeutic benefits. Furthermore, the application introduces a three-sectioned version of the contoured body pillow, providing similar advantages.

The invention claimed is: 
     
         1 . A body pillow comprising:
 a first rounded section with a generally droplet-shaped profile;   a second rounded section with a generally droplet-shaped profile; and   a neck wherein the first and second rounded sections merge, creating a narrowed connection;   wherein the overall shape of the pillow resembles two mirrored droplet-shaped sections whose perimeters converge and meet at the neck portion.   
     
     
         2 . The pillow of  claim 1 , wherein the first rounded section is larger in size than the second rounded section. 
     
     
         3 . The pillow of  claim 1 , wherein the pillow has a front aspect and a rear aspect that take on the overall shape described in  claim 1 , and wherein the depth of the pillow is less than the width of the pillow, such that on side view the pillow appears much narrower than when viewed from the front of back. 
     
     
         4 . The pillow of  claim 1 , wherein the pillow does not have any defined front or rear aspect, such that said pillow has a uniform curved surface. 
     
     
         5 . The pillow of  claim 1 , further comprising a pocket incorporated onto or into the first rounded section or the second rounded section. 
     
     
         6 . The pillow of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a fabric encasing; and   a material fill, wherein the fabric encasing encloses the material fill.   
     
     
         7 . The pillow of  claim 6 , wherein the fabric encasing consists of a front aspect affixed to a rear aspect. 
     
     
         8 . The pillow of  claim 6 , further comprising a zip incorporated into the fabric encasing wherein the material fill can be added, removed or adjusted. 
     
     
         9 . The pillow of  claim 1 , wherein the neck is elongated to provide further distance between the first rounded section and the second rounded section. 
     
     
         10 . The body pillow of  claim 1 , further comprising a removable cover shaped to conform to the shape of the body pillow when the body pillow is in the resting position. 
     
     
         11 . A removable cover shaped to conform to the shape of the body pillow of  claim 1 , further comprising an opening in the removable cover. 
     
     
         12 . A removable cover shaped to conform to the shape of the body pillow of  claim 1 , further comprising a zip. 
     
     
         13 . A body pillow comprising:
 a first rounded section with a generally droplet-shaped profile;   a second rounded section;   a third rounded section with a generally droplet-shaped profile;   a first neck portion wherein the first and second rounded sections merge, creating a narrowed connection; and   a second neck portion wherein the second and third rounded sections merge, creating a narrowed connection;   wherein the overall shape of the pillow resembles a series of three rounded sections whose perimeters converge to meet at the neck portions between them.   
     
     
         14 . The pillow of  claim 13 , wherein the first rounded section is larger than the second and third rounded sections. 
     
     
         15 . The pillow of  claim 13 , wherein the pillow has a front aspect and a rear aspect that take on the overall shape described in  claim 13 , and wherein the depth of the pillow is less than the width of the pillow, such that on side view the pillow appears much narrower than on front or rear view. 
     
     
         16 . The pillow of  claim 13 , further comprising a pocket incorporated onto or into any of the rounded sections. 
     
     
         17 . The pillow of  claim 13 , further comprising:
 a fabric encasing; and   a material fill, wherein the fabric encasing encloses the material fill.   
     
     
         18 . The pillow of  claim 17 , wherein the fabric encasing consists of a front aspect affixed to a rear aspect. 
     
     
         19 . The pillow of  claim 17 , further comprising a zip incorporated into the fabric encasing wherein the material fill can be added, removed or adjusted. 
     
     
         20 . The pillow of  claim 13 , further comprising a removable cover shaped to conform to the shape of the body pillow when the body pillow is in the resting position.
