Abstract

Provided is a technique for increasing an amount of solanone in a tobacco leaf. A method for increasing an amount of solanone in a tobacco leaf in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention includes a heating step of heating a tobacco leaf for not less than 30 minutes at a temperature of not lower than 80° C. in the presence of water.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A method for increasing an amount of solanone in a tobacco leaf, the method comprising: a heating step of heating a tobacco leaf for not less than 30 minutes at a temperature of not lower than 80° C. in the presence of water.

2 . The method as set forth in claim 1 , wherein the tobacco leaf is a fresh leaf.

3 . The method as set forth in claim 1 , wherein the tobacco leaf is a cured leaf.

4 . The method as set forth in claim 1 , wherein the heating step includes heating the tobacco leaf at a temperature of not lower than 80° C. and not higher than 100° C. under atmospheric pressure.

5 . A method for producing a tobacco material, the method comprising: a heating step of heating a tobacco leaf for not less than 30 minutes at a temperature of not lower than 80° C. in the presence of water; and
a curing step of subjecting, to a curing treatment, the tobacco leaf which has been subjected to the heating step.

6 . A method for extracting solanone, the method comprising: a heating step of heating a tobacco leaf for not less than 30 minutes at a temperature of not lower than 80° C. in the presence of water; and
an extraction step of extracting solanone from the tobacco leaf which has been subjected to the heating step.
