Abstract

The current invention relates to an amusement ride comprising a mast support structure for supporting a mast in at least a substantially upright position, the mast support structure comprising;a rigid self-supporting base frame assembly configured for contacting [holding, carrying, supporting] and holding a ballast weight for stably supporting the mast in the upright position, anda lift system for lifting the base frame assembly with respect to a ground level,wherein the lift system is configured to lift the base frame assembly from an initial position, upwards to an operational position, and wherein the amusement park ride comprises;a ballast forming trailer at least partly arranged above the base frame assembly such that the base frame assembly engages the ballast forming trailer when the base frame assembly is lifted from the initial position upwards to the operational position so that the ballast forming trailer is at least partly supported by the base frame assembly in the operational position.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . An amusement ride comprising a mast support structure for supporting a mast in at least a substantially upright position, the mast support structure comprising;
 a rigid self-supporting base frame assembly configured for contacting and holding a ballast weight for stably supporting the mast in the upright position, and a lift system for lifting the base frame assembly with respect to a ground level,
       wherein the lift system is configured to lift the base frame assembly from an initial position, upwards to an operational position, and wherein the amusement park ride comprises;
 a ballast forming trailer at least partly arranged above the base frame assembly such that the base frame assembly engages the ballast forming trailer when the base frame assembly is lifted from the initial position upwards to the operational position so that the ballast forming trailer is at least partly supported by the base frame assembly in the operational position.

         2 . Amusement ride according to claim 1 , wherein the base frame assembly comprises two opposite frame forming trailers, arranged to form a ballast accommodation space between the two opposite frame forming trailers, and wherein the ballast accommodation space is suitable to accommodate a number of ballast forming trailers.

         3 . Amusement ride according to claim 2 , wherein the base frame assembly comprises a cross-linking trailer and the two opposite frame forming trailers of the base frame assembly are rigidly connected to each other by the cross-linking trailer to form a I- or U-shaped base frame assembly.

         4 . Amusement ride according to claim 3 , wherein the base frame assembly comprises two cross-linking trailers and the two opposite frame forming trailers of the base frame assembly are rigidly connected to each other by the two cross-linking trailers to form a quadrangular base frame assembly, in particular a rectangular base frame assembly, that extends around the ballast accommodation space.

         5 . Amusement ride according to claim 2 , comprising a connection system providing a moment connection between at least a frame forming trailer and a cross-linking trailer of the base frame assembly, wherein a long side of the frame forming trailer rigidly connects to a short side of the cross-linking trailer to form at least a part of the base frame assembly.

         6 . Amusement ride according to claim 5 , wherein the connection system comprises a form closed mechanical joint that extends along the vertical for providing the moment connection.

         7 . Amusement ride according to claim 6 , wherein the connection system comprises two separate form closed mechanical joints spaced along the vertical for providing the moment connection.

         8 . Amusement ride according to claim 7 , wherein the two form closed mechanical joints are configured such that the moment connection is established when lifting the frame forming trailer with respect to the cross-linking trailer.

         9 . Amusement ride according to claim 1 , wherein the lift system comprises two opposite feet for contacting the ground level, and the ballast accommodation space is at least partly arranged between the two opposite feet.

         10 . Amusement ride according to claim 2 , wherein the lift system is coupled with the two opposite frame forming trailers only, and the cross-linking trailers and the ballast forming trailers are supported by the two opposite frame forming trailers and lifted when lifting the two opposite frame forming trailers.

         11 . Amusement ride according to claim 1 , wherein the base frame assembly comprises a contact face to form a bearing support for a ballast forming trailer.

         12 . Amusement ride according to claim 11 , wherein the two opposite frame forming trailers of the base frame assembly both comprise a contact face to form a respective bearing support for a respective end of a ballast forming trailer.

         13 . An amusement ride according to  claim 1 , comprising;
 a mast supported by the mast support structure, the mast having a free end and an opposite end coupled to the mast support structure, a wheel rotatably connected to the free end of the mast and rotatable around a wheel rotation axis.

         14 . Method for building up an amusement ride according to a  claim 1 , comprising the steps of;
 transporting the amusement ride using a number of trailers, providing a base frame assembly comprising one or more trailers, including a ballast forming trailer in a ballast weight, supporting the ballast weight by the base frame assembly, lifting the ballast forming trailer with respect to a ground level by lifting the base frame assembly, setting up the amusement ride on the base frame assembly.

         15 . Method according to claim 14 , wherein the providing the base frame assembly comprising one or more trailers comprises the step of establishing a moment connection between at least a frame forming trailer and a cross-linking trailer of the base frame assembly, wherein a long side of the frame forming trailer rigidly connects to a short side of the cross-linking trailer to form at least a part of the base frame assembly.

         16 . Method according  claim 15 , when depending on claim #, comprising;
 setting up the free end of the mast, rotatably connecting the wheel to the free end of the mast, and operating the amusement ride as a Ferris wheel.
