Medium conveyance device
Abstract
Provided is a medium conveying apparatus to suppress soiling of the surface of a conveyance roller. A medium conveying apparatus includes a plurality of conveyance rollers located on a downstream side of the feed roller and the separation roller in a medium conveying direction and spaced in a direction perpendicular to the medium conveying direction to convey the medium, and a plurality of facing rollers located to respectively face the plurality of conveyance rollers. The plurality of conveyance rollers and the plurality of facing rollers are located such that, in a width direction perpendicular to the medium conveying direction, a distance between inner edges of a plurality of second nip regions formed at positions where the plurality of conveyance rollers and the plurality of facing rollers are respectively in contact with each other is greater than a distance between outer edges of a first nip region formed at a position where the feed roller and the separation roller are in contact with each other and less than a minimum width of a medium supported by the medium conveying apparatus.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A medium conveying apparatus comprising:
a feed roller to feed a medium; a separation part located to face the feed roller; a plurality of conveyance rollers spaced in a direction intersecting to the medium conveying direction to convey the medium fed by the feed roller to a downstream side in the medium conveying direction; and a plurality of facing rollers located to respectively face the plurality of conveyance rollers, wherein the feed roller, the separation part, the plurality of conveyance rollers, and the plurality of facing rollers are located such that, viewed from the medium conveying direction, a first nip region formed by the feed roller and the separation part does not overlap with second nip regions formed by the plurality of conveyance rollers and the plurality of facing rollers, and the feed roller overlaps at least one roller of the plurality of conveyance rollers and the plurality of facing rollers.
2 . The medium conveying apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the plurality of conveyance rollers and the plurality of facing rollers are located such that, viewed from the medium conveying direction, a difference between a distance between the inner edges of the second nip regions of the plurality of conveyance rollers and the plurality of facing rollers and a distance between the outer edges of the first nip region is 30 mm or less.
3 . The medium conveying apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein a width of a roller with a greater hardness out of the conveyance roller and the facing roller is greater than a width of a roller with a less hardness.
4 . The medium conveying apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising:
a first pressing part to press one of the feed roller and the separation roller to the other to form the first nip region at a position where the feed roller and the separation roller are in contact with each other; and a second pressing part to press one plurality of rollers of the plurality of conveyance rollers and the plurality of facing rollers to the other plurality of rollers to form the plurality of second nip regions at positions where the plurality of conveyance rollers and the plurality of facing rollers are respectively in contact with each other, wherein the plurality of conveyance rollers and the plurality of facing rollers are located such that, viewed from the medium conveying direction, a distance between inner edges of the plurality of second nip regions is greater than a distance between outer edges of the first nip region and less than a minimum width of a medium supported by the medium conveying apparatus.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
