Abstract
An elastic resistance exercising device for performing resistance exercises in a supine position includes an elastic line, a pair of foot grips, and a pair of hand grips. The foot grips are attached singly to opposed ends of the elastic line. Each foot grip is to selectively attachable to a respective foot of a user. A fastener is doubly attached to the elastic line, proximate its opposed ends, and defines a pair of end segments and a loop segment of the elastic line. The hand grips are attached to the loop segment distal from the fastener. Each hand grip is selectively attachable to a respective hand of the user. The elastic line provides resistance to movement of arms and legs of the user, enabling the user to perform a variety of resistance training exercises while in a supine position.

1 . An elastic resistance exercising device comprising:
an elastic line; a pair of foot grips attached singly to opposed ends of the elastic line, wherein each foot grip of the pair of foot grips is configured for selectively attaching to a respective foot of a user; a fastener doubly attached to the elastic line proximate to the opposed ends the opposed ends of the elastic line defining a pair of end segments and a loop segment of the elastic line; and a pair of hand grips attached to the loop segment distal from the fastener, wherein each hand grip of the pair of hand grips is configured for selectively attaching to a respective hand of the user, wherein the elastic line is configured for providing resistance to movement of arms and legs of the user, enabling the user for performing a variety of resistance training exercises.
2 . The elastic resistance exercising device of claim 1 , wherein the elastic line comprises a bungee cord, an elastic tube, or an elastic band.
3 . The elastic resistance exercising device of claim 1 , wherein the pair of foot grips is defined by a pair of connectors attached to the elastic line, such that each connector of the pair of connectors creates from the elastic line a respective foot loop of a pair of foot loops.
4 . The elastic resistance exercising device of claim 4 , wherein the connector comprises a crimp connection.
5 . The elastic resistance exercising device of claim 1 , wherein each end segment has a nontensioned length shorter than a distance between an ankle and a knee of the user.
6 . The elastic resistance exercising device of claim 1 , wherein a section of the loop segment between the hand grips of the pair of hand grips has a nontensioned length shorter than a width of shoulders of the user.
7 . The elastic resistance exercising device of claim 1 , wherein each hand grip and the fastener define a respective subsection of the loop segment, the respective subsection having a nontensioned length shorter than a distance between knees and shoulders of the user.
8 . The elastic resistance exercising device of claim 1 , wherein the pair of hand grips is defined by a pair of couplers attached to the elastic line, such that each coupler of the pair of couplers creates from the elastic line a respective hand loop of a pair of hand loops.
9 . The elastic resistance exercising device of claim 9 , wherein the coupler comprising a crimp connection.
10 . The elastic resistance exercising device of claim 1 , wherein the fastener comprises a crimp connection.
11 . The elastic resistance exercising device of claim 1 , further including a pair of resistance lines, the resistance lines of the pair of resistance lines being elastic, each resistance line of the pair of resistance being attached to and extending between a respective foot grip of the pair of foot grips and a respective hand grip of the pair of hand grips, wherein the pair of resistance lines is configured for providing additional resistance to movement of the arms and the legs of the user.
12 . The elastic resistance exercising device of claim 1 , further including a sack sized for insertion of the elastic line, the pair of foot grips, and the pair of hand grips, wherein the sack is configured for stowing the elastic line, the pair of foot grips, and the pair of hand grips.
13 . The elastic resistance exercising device of claim 12 , further including:
a sleeve attached to and extending circumferentially around an open end of the sack; and a cord positioned through the sleeve such that opposing end segments of the cord extend through a slit positioned in the sleeve, wherein the opposing end segments are configured for grasping in a hand of the user for cinching the open end of the sack closed.
14 . An elastic resistance exercising device comprising:
an elastic line, the elastic line comprising a bungee cord, an elastic tube, or an elastic band; a pair of foot grips attached singly to opposed ends of the elastic line, wherein each foot grip of the pair of foot grips is configured for selectively attaching to a respective foot of a user, the pair of foot grips being defined by a pair of connectors attached to the elastic line, such that each connector of the pair of connectors creates from the elastic line a respective foot loop of a pair of foot loops, the connector comprising a crimp connection; a fastener doubly attached to the elastic line proximate to the opposed ends the opposed ends of the elastic line defining a pair of end segments and a loop segment of the elastic line, each end segment having a nontensioned length shorter than a distance between an ankle and a knee of the user; and a pair of hand grips attached to the loop segment distal from the fastener, wherein each hand grip of the pair of hand grips is configured for selectively attaching to a respective hand of the user, wherein the elastic line is configured for providing resistance to movement of arms and legs of the user, enabling the user for performing a variety of resistance training exercises, a section of the loop segment between the hand grips of the pair of hand grips having a nontensioned length shorter than a width of shoulders of the user, each hand grip and the fastener defining a respective subsection of the loop segment, the respective subsection having a nontensioned length shorter than a distance between the knees and the shoulders of the user, the pair of hand grips being defined by a pair of couplers attached to the elastic line, such that each coupler of the pair of couplers creates from the elastic line a respective hand loop of a pair of hand loops, the coupler comprising a crimp connection.
15 . The elastic resistance exercising device of claim 14 , further including a pair of resistance lines, the resistance lines of the pair of resistance lines being elastic, each resistance line of the pair of resistance being attached to and extending between a respective foot grip of the pair of foot grips and a respective hand grip of the pair of hand grips, wherein the pair of resistance lines is configured for providing additional resistance to movement of the arms and the legs of the user.
16 . The elastic resistance exercising device of claim 14 , further including:
a sack sized for insertion of the elastic line, the pair of foot grips, and the pair of hand grips, wherein the sack is configured for stowing the elastic line, the pair of foot grips, and the pair of hand grips; a sleeve attached to and extending circumferentially around an open end of the sack; and a cord positioned through the sleeve such that opposing end segments of the cord extend through a slit positioned in the sleeve, wherein the opposing end segments are configured for grasping in a hand of the user for cinching the open end of the sack closed.
17 . A method of resistance training comprising the steps of:
providing an elastic resistance exercising device comprising:
an elastic line,
a pair of foot grips attached singly to opposed ends of the elastic line, wherein each foot grip of the pair of foot grips is configured for selectively attaching to a respective foot of a user,
a fastener doubly attached to the elastic line proximate to the opposed ends the opposed ends of the elastic line defining a pair of end segments and a loop segment of the elastic line, and
a pair of hand grips attached to the loop segment distal from the fastener, wherein each hand grip of the pair of hand grips is configured for selectively attaching to a respective hand of the user, wherein the elastic line is configured for providing resistance to movement of arms and legs of the user, enabling the user for performing a variety of resistance training exercises;
