Socks With Fasteners

Abstract

The present invention is a pair of socks designed to prevent individual socks from becoming lost and misplaced. The pair of socks include a snapping mechanism including a male protruding button on an outer surface of the cuff portion of a first sock and a female socket on an outer surface of the cuff portion of a second sock. The male protruding button is pressed against the female socket to secure and fasten both the socks together when not worn by a user. The attached pair of socks are washable and can be stored easily. In some embodiments, the snapping mechanism can be used on selectively detachable patches which are selectively positionable on and removable (i.e., detachable) from the socks. In other embodiments, hook and loop fasteners and magnetic fasteners can be used to attach the socks together.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . An attaching socks pair comprising:
 a pair of attaching socks;   a first sock having a first snap button; and   a second sock having a second snap button;   wherein said first snap button is positioned on an outer surface and proximal to a cuff portion of said first sock;   wherein said second snap button is positioned on an outer surface and proximal to a cuff portion of said second sock; and   further wherein said first sock matches said second sock in design and size.   
     
     
         2 . The attaching socks pair of  claim 1 , wherein said first snap is a male button. 
     
     
         3 . The attaching socks pair of  claim 2 , wherein said second snap is a female button. 
     
     
         4 . The attaching socks pair of  claim 3 , wherein said female button is recessed into said cuff portion of said second sock. 
     
     
         5 . The attaching socks pair of  claim 4 , wherein said first snap button is aligned with said second button for attaching in alignment said first sock to said second sock when said pair of attaching socks are not worn. 
     
     
         6 . The attaching socks pair of  claim 5 , wherein said first snap button is sewn to said cuff portion of said first sock, and further wherein said second snap button is sewn to said cuff portion of said second sock. 
     
     
         7 . The attaching socks pair of  claim 5 , wherein said first snap button is adhesively secured to said cuff portion of said first sock, and further wherein said second snap button is adhesively secured to said cuff portion of said second sock. 
     
     
         8 . The attaching socks pair of  claim 6 , wherein said pair of attaching socks are washable. 
     
     
         9 . An attaching socks pair comprising:
 a pair of attaching socks;   a first sock having a first male attachment mechanism; and   a second sock having a second female attachment mechanism;   wherein said first male attachment mechanism is positioned on an outer surface and proximal to a cuff portion of said first sock;   wherein said second female attachment mechanism is positioned on an outer surface and proximal to a cuff portion of said second sock; and   further wherein said first sock matches said second sock in design and size.   
     
     
         10 . The attaching socks pair of  claim 9 , wherein said first male attachment mechanism is a hook fastener. 
     
     
         11 . The attaching socks pair of  claim 10 , wherein said second female attachment mechanism is a loop fastener. 
     
     
         12 . The attaching socks pair of  claim 11 , wherein said loop fastener is recessed into said cuff portion of said second sock. 
     
     
         13 . The attaching socks pair of  claim 12 , wherein said first male attachment mechanism is aligned with said second female attachment mechanism for attaching in alignment said first sock to said second sock when said pair of attaching socks are not worn. 
     
     
         14 . The attaching socks pair of  claim 13 , wherein said first male attachment mechanism is sewn to said cuff portion of said first sock, and further wherein said second female attachment mechanism is sewn to said cuff portion of said second sock. 
     
     
         15 . The attaching socks pair of  claim 13 , wherein said first male attachment mechanism is adhesively secured to said cuff portion of said first sock, and further wherein said second female attachment mechanism is adhesively secured to said cuff portion of said second sock. 
     
     
         16 . The attaching socks pair of  claim 14 , where said pair of attaching socks are washable. 
     
     
         17 . An attaching socks pair comprising:
 a pair of attaching socks;   a first sock having a first male attachment mechanism; and   a second sock having a second female attachment mechanism;   wherein said first male attachment mechanism is selectively positionable on and removable from an outer surface of said first sock;   wherein said second female attachment mechanism is selectively positionable on and removable from an outer surface of said second sock; and   further wherein said first sock matches said second sock in design and size.   
     
     
         18 . The attaching socks pair of  claim 17 , wherein said first male attachment mechanism is a snap button patch. 
     
     
         19 . The attaching socks of  claim 18 , wherein said second female attachment mechanism is a socket patch. 
     
     
         20 . The attaching socks of  claim 19 , wherein said snap button patch is adhesively secured to a cuff portion of said first sock, and further wherein said socket patch is adhesively secured to a cuff portion of said second sock.
