Example embodiments relate to a device for heating a liquid and/or warming air, including a burner device and an air conveying device. The air conveying device conveys combustion air to the burner device. The air conveying device has a carrier housing, a movable fan wheel, an air inlet, and an air outlet. The carrier housing has a conveying channel which is connected to the air inlet and the air outlet. The fan wheel is arranged so as to be rotatable about a longitudinal axis of the air conveying device and has a blade structure. The air outlet is arranged in a central area of the air conveying device and extends through the fan wheel. The invention further relates to a side channel blower.

wherein the carrier housing has a conveying channel which is connected to the air inlet and the air outlet, wherein the fan wheel is arranged so as to be rotatable about a longitudinal axis of the air conveying device and has a blade structure, wherein the air inlet is arranged at a lateral area of the air conveying device, wherein the air outlet is arranged in a central area of the air conveying device, and wherein the air outlet extends through the fan wheel.
