Abstract
The present invention relates to a skate with a cutting guard which protect people from the sharp lower part of the skate blade when the skate is in the air above the surface, but moves up so that the skate blade exposes when the skate makes contact with the surface. The invention is to reduce the risk of cutting yourself or others on the skate's sharp blade.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A blade holder ( 1 ) for a skate included:
a skate blade; a front cut guard holder; a rear cut guard holder; a cut guard ( 2 ) arranged along the skate blade on both sides thereof, which cut guard ( 2 ) include a front and a rear end, which are movably arranged in the front and rear cut guard holder so that the cut guard ( 2 ) is movable between an extended position, in which it covers the lower sharp part of the skate blade, and retracted positions in which the lower sharp part for blade is exposed,
wherein the cutting guard ( 2 ) comprises a front pin ( 6 ) which is movably arranged in the front end between an outer and an inner position, and a rear pin which is movably arranged in the rear end between an outer and an inner position, whereby
the cut guard ( 2 ) is biased towards the extended position and each of the pins ( 6 ) is biased towards the outer position, whereby
when each of the pins ( 6 ) is in its outer position, the cut guard ( 2 ) is prevented from moving from the extended position, and
when each of the pins ( 6 ) is in its inner position, the cut guard ( 2 ) is allowed to move between the extended and retracted positions in which the lower sharp part for blade is exposed,
wherein the bias of the pins ( 6 ) is such that it is exceeded when the pins ( 6 ) are in contact with a surface whereby the pins move from their outer position to their inner position, thereby allowing the skate blade to come into contact with the surface.
2 . Blade holder ( 1 ) according to claim 1 , whereby
the front cut guard holder includes a front cut out, and the cut guard ( 2 ) includes a front ball ( 7 ) movably arranged in the front end, whereby
when the front pin ( 6 ) is in the outer position, the front ball ( 7 ) is arranged to move into the front cut out and thereby locking the front end relative to the front holder, and when the front pin ( 6 ) is in the inner position allowing the front ball ( 7 ) to move out of the front cut out and thus allowing the front end to move relative to the front cut guard holder,
and
the rear cut guard holder includes a rear cut out, and
the cut guard ( 2 ) includes a rear ball ( 7 ) movably arranged in the rear end,
whereby
when the rear pin ( 6 ) is in the outer position, the rear ball ( 7 ) is arranged to move into the rear cut out and thereby locking the rear end relative to the rear cut guard holder, and when the rear pin ( 6 ) being in the inner position, the rear ball ( 7 ) is allowed to move out of the rear cut out, thereby allowing the rear end to move relative to the rear cut guard holder.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
