Abstract
A braided hair pillow device is disclosed that is a multipurpose pillow that may be used by those who wear their hair in braids while sleeping. The braided hair pillow device comprises a body component that is configured in an S-shape with a central area that is thicker to accommodate the head and neck, while the ends are tapered for the user's braids. Users can adjust the tapered sections to desired positions for accommodating one or more braids. The curved shape of the pillow device allows the pillow to be positioned in a more comfortable manner for the user.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A braided hair pillow device that provides a user with a multipurpose pillow for those who wear their hair in braids, the braided hair pillow device comprising:
a body component; wherein the body component comprises a central area and tapered ends; wherein the body component is configured in an S-shape; wherein the central area accommodates a user's head and neck; wherein the tapered ends accommodates a user's braids; and further wherein the tapered ends can be adjusted to allow for a comfortable position for a user sleeping with braids.
2 . The braided hair pillow device of claim 1 , wherein the body component is a continuous, resilient structure having a distinctive S-shape but can be adjusted in other configurations as well.
3 . The braided hair pillow device of claim 2 , wherein the body component comprises two semi-circular support sections joined to each other in an opposing manner, so as to create the S-shape configuration.
4 . The braided hair pillow device of claim 3 , wherein an external covering of the body component comprises a smooth fabric, textile, corduroy material, or terrycloth.
5 . The braided hair pillow device of claim 4 , wherein the external covering is manufactured in different colors and designs.
6 . The braided hair pillow device of claim 5 , wherein the body component comprises a slipcover that allows for simple insertion or removal of the body component.
7 . The braided hair pillow device of claim 6 , wherein the braided hair pillow device is manufactured in different sizes.
8 . The braided hair pillow device of claim 7 , wherein the body component comprises a plurality of indicia.
9 . The braided hair pillow device of claim 8 , wherein the central area is a generally enlarged, flexible area that acts to support a user's head and neck.
10 . The braided hair pillow device of claim 9 , wherein the central area descends in size and shape as it spirals in opposite directions, away from the central area, and terminating in opposing tapered ends.
11 . The braided hair pillow device of claim 10 , wherein the opposing tapered ends can be adjusted in multiple ways to support a user's braids.
12 . The braided hair pillow device of claim 11 , wherein the opposing tapered ends are brought in close proximity to each other to form a C-shape configuration.
13 . The braided hair pillow device of claim 12 , wherein the body component is manufactured of a polyurethane or closed-cell foam for flexibility.
14 . A braided hair pillow device that provides a user with a multipurpose pillow for those who wear their hair in braids, the braided hair pillow device comprising:
a body component shaped in an S-shape configuration; wherein the body component comprises a central area and opposing tapered ends; wherein the body component comprises two semi-circular support sections joined to each other in an opposing manner, so as to create the S-shape configuration; wherein the body component is configured in the S-shape configuration but can be adjusted in other configurations as well; wherein the central area is a generally enlarged, flexible area that acts to support a user's head and neck; wherein the central area descends in size and shape as it spirals in opposite directions, away from the central area, and terminating in opposing tapered ends; and further wherein the opposing tapered ends can be adjusted in multiple ways to support a user's braids.
15 . The braided hair pillow device of claim 14 , wherein the opposing tapered ends are brought in close proximity to each other to form a C-shape configuration.
16 . The braided hair pillow device of claim 15 , wherein the body component is manufactured of a polyurethane or closed-cell foam for flexibility.
17 . The braided hair pillow device of claim 16 , wherein the body component is of a specific material and firmness, such that it is not crushed or flattened when it is bent and can be re-shaped into the S-shape configuration.
18 . The braided hair pillow device of claim 14 , wherein an external covering of the body component comprises a smooth fabric, textile, corduroy material, or terrycloth.
19 . The braided hair pillow device of claim 14 , wherein the body component comprises a slipcover that allows for simple insertion or removal of the body component.
20 . A method of allowing a user to comfortably sleep with braids in their hair, the method comprising the following steps:
providing a braided hair pillow device comprising a body component configured in an S-shape with a thicker central area and tapered ends; adjusting the tapered ends according to the user's braided hairstyle; laying a user's head on the pillow device, such that their head and neck are supported by the thicker central area and their braids are supported by the tapered ends; and sleeping on the braided hair pillow device.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
