Claims

Abstract

An insulative siding assembly that is configured to be installed on an exterior wall of a building so as to provide an increase in the R-value of the wall. The invention includes a support grid wherein the support grid includes a plurality of first support members and second support member arranged in a perpendicular crossing pattern. The support grid has secured thereto a multitude of insulative material anchors that extend outward therefrom and are perpendicular to the support grid. The insulative material anchors include a post member wherein the post member includes a tab member formed on the end thereof distal to the support grid. The present invention includes a layer of insulative material that is secured to the support grid utilizing the insulative material anchors. The tab members include a first portion and second portion that are placed into a second position ensuing being pierced through the insulative material.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . An insulative siding assembly configured to be secured to an exterior of a building wherein the insulative siding assembly comprises:
 a support grid, said support grid being manufactured from a rigid material;   a multitude of insulative material anchors, said insulative material anchors being secured to said support grid, said insulative material anchors extending outward from said support grid and further being perpendicular thereto;   an insulative layer, said insulative layer being secured to said support grid, said multitude of insulative material anchors being journaled into said insulative layer.   
     
     
         2 . The insulative siding assembly as recited in  claim 1 , wherein said multitude of insulative material anchors further include a post member, said post member being elongated in shape, said post member having a first end and a second end. 
     
     
         3 . The insulative siding assembly as recited in  claim 2 , wherein the post member of said multitude of insulative material anchors further includes a tab member, said tab member being secured to said second end of said post member, said tab member being movable between a first position and a second position. 
     
     
         4 . The insulative siding assembly as recited in  claim 3 , wherein said support grid further includes a plurality of first support members, said plurality of first support members being parallel with each other. 
     
     
         5 . The insulative siding assembly as recited in  claim 4 , wherein said support grid further includes a plurality of second support members, said plurality of second support members being parallel with each other, said plurality of second support members being arranged perpendicularly to said plurality of first support members. 
     
     
         6 . The insulative siding assembly as recited in  claim 5 , wherein in said first position said tab members are in axial alignment with said post members. 
     
     
         7 . The insulative siding assembly as recited in  claim 6 , wherein in said second position said tab members are perpendicular to said post members. 
     
     
         8 . The insulative siding assembly as recited in  claim 7 , wherein said tab members are placed in said second position ensuing securing of said insulative layer to said support grid. 
     
     
         9 . An insulative siding assembly configured to be secured to an exterior of a building so as to increase the R-value thereof wherein the insulative siding assembly comprises:
 a support grid, said support grid including a plurality of first support members, said plurality of first support members being parallel having a void therebetween, said support grid further including a plurality of second support members, said plurality of second support members being parallel with each other, said plurality of second support members being arranged perpendicularly to said plurality of first support members;   a multitude of insulative material anchors, said insulative material anchors being secured to said support grid, said insulative material anchors extending outward from said support grid and further being perpendicular thereto, said multitude of insulative material anchors further include a post member, said post member being elongated in shape, said post member having a first end and a second end, said post members having a tab member being secured to said second end of said post member, said tab member having a first position and a second position; and   an insulative layer, said insulative layer being secured to said support grid, said multitude of insulative material anchors being journaled into said insulative layer.   
     
     
         10 . The insulative siding assembly configured to be secured to an exterior of a building as recited in  claim 9 , wherein in said first position said tab members are in axial alignment with said post members. 
     
     
         11 . The insulative siding assembly configured to be secured to an exterior of a building as recited in  claim 10 , wherein in said second position said tab members are perpendicular to said post members and wherein said tab members are placed in said second position ensuing placement of said insulative layer adjacent to said support grid. 
     
     
         12 . The insulative siding assembly configured to be secured to an exterior of a building as recited in  claim 11 , wherein the insulative siding assembly is secured to a building utilizing a plurality of fasteners having countersunk washers coupled thereto.
