Abstract

An integrated commode reclining chair device for provision of a comfortable recliner commode combination for an incontinent or mobility challenged user includes a recliner, which is padded and which comprises a seat for seating a user. The seat comprises a housing, which defines an interior space that is substantially cuboid. A front of the housing is open and an aperture is positioned in a top of the housing. A tray is selectively insertable into the front of the housing so that the tray substantially occupies the interior space. Feces and urine that is expelled by the user through the aperture is collected in the tray.

Claims

I claim:

1 . An integrated commode reclining chair device comprising:
a recliner, the recliner being padded, the recliner comprising a seat, wherein the recliner is configured for seating of a user, the seat comprising a housing defining an interior space, the interior space being substantially cuboid, a front of the housing being open; a tray selectively insertable into the front of the housing, such that the tray substantially occupies the interior space; and an aperture positioned in a top of the housing, wherein the tray is configured for collecting feces and urine expelled by the user through the aperture.

2 . The integrated commode reclining chair device of claim 1 , wherein the recliner comprises:
a frame; a pair of armrests attached singly to opposed sides of the frame, the seat being attached to the frame and extending substantially between the armrests of the pair of armrests; a backrest attached to the frame and being hingable relative to the seat, such that the backrest is selectively reclinable; a footrest attached to the frame and being hingable relative to the seat, such that the footrest is selectively extensible; padding attached to the armrests, the seat, the backrest, and the footrest; and an actuator attached to a respective one of the armrests and operationally engaged to the frame, wherein the actuator is configured for being actuated for selectively positioning the backrest in a reclined position and the footrest in an extended position.

3 . The integrated commode reclining chair device of claim 2 , wherein the actuator comprises a lever.

4 . The integrated commode reclining chair device of claim 1 , wherein the aperture is ovoid.

5 . The integrated commode reclining chair device of claim 1 , further including a grip attached to a front facet of the tray, wherein the grip is configured for grasping in a hand of a user, positioning the user for selectively extracting the tray from the housing.

6 . The integrated commode reclining chair device of claim 5 , wherein the grip comprises a slot positioned in the front facet proximate to the top of the housing.

7 . An integrated commode reclining chair device comprising:
a recliner, the recliner being padded, the recliner comprising a seat, wherein the recliner is configured for seating of a user, the seat comprising a housing defining an interior space, the interior space being substantially cuboid, a front of the housing being open, the recliner comprising:
 a frame,
a pair of armrests attached singly to opposed sides of the frame,
the seat being attached to the frame and extending substantially between the armrests of the pair of armrests,
a backrest attached to the frame and being hingable relative to the seat, such that the backrest is selectively reclinable,
a footrest attached to the frame and being hingable relative to the seat, such that the footrest is selectively extensible,
padding attached to the armrests, the seat, the backrest, and the footrest, and
 an actuator attached to a respective one of the armrests and operationally engaged to the frame, wherein the actuator is configured for being actuated for selectively positioning the backrest in a reclined position and the footrest in an extended position, the actuator comprising a lever;
a tray selectively insertable into the front of the housing, such that the tray substantially occupies the interior space; an aperture positioned in a top of the housing, wherein the tray is configured for collecting feces and urine expelled by the user through the aperture, the aperture being ovoid; and a grip attached to a front facet of the tray, wherein the grip is configured for grasping in a hand of a user, positioning the user for selectively extracting the tray from the housing, the grip comprising a slot positioned in the front facet proximate to the top of the housing.

8 . A method of using an integrated commode reclining chair device comprising the steps of:
sitting of a user upon a seat of a recliner of an integrated commode reclining chair device; actuating an actuator to selectively recline a backrest and extend a footrest of the recliner; and utilizing a tray for collecting feces and urine expelled by the user through an aperture positioned in a housing integral to the seat.

9 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising the steps of:
grasping a grip attached to the tray and extracting the tray from the housing; cleaning the tray; and reinserting the tray into the housing.
