Abstract

A clothing device is disclosed that allows users to be able to still see while wearing a hoodie, even though it partly covers their eyes. The clothing device comprises a hood component with a transparent piece of plastic or other suitable material, positioned on each side of the hood component, that allows a user to see side to side while wearing the hood component. Thus, users are able to maintain optimal awareness of their surroundings to prevent injuries and accidents. Further, the plastic material may be implemented into the hood component in different configurations to suit all user needs and preferences.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A clothing device that provides a user with greater visibility while wearing a hoodie, the clothing device comprising:
a hood component; and a pair of side components; wherein the pair of side components are secured on either side of the hood component near eye level of a user; and further wherein the pair of side components provides a user with an unobstructed view of sides while wearing a hooded garment comprising the hood component.

2 . The clothing device of claim 1 , wherein the hooded garment comprises a body component and the hood component, which extends from an upper portion of the body component to generally provide an enclosure.

3 . The clothing device of claim 2 , wherein the hood component includes a main portion having two lateral sides, and a top and a back component contiguous with and connecting the two lateral sides and the back component and front hood edge.

4 . The clothing device of claim 3 , wherein the main portion of the hood component is opaque and the pair of side components are transparent.

5 . The clothing device of claim 4 , wherein the pair of side component comprise stitched edges for stiffening and maintaining the pair of side components in the hood component.

6 . The clothing device of claim 5 , wherein the pair of side components comprise a fabric reinforcement surrounding each side component, such as a grommet-like edge reinforcement.

7 . The clothing device of claim 6 , wherein the pair of side components comprise fabric structural reinforcements with a channel for pressure coupling the pair of side components with surrounding edge fabric.

8 . The clothing device of claim 7 , wherein the pair of side components comprise a see-through fabric cover.

9 . The clothing device of claim 8 , wherein the pair of side components comprise a mesh pattern defining a plurality of apertures.

10 . The clothing device of claim 9 , wherein the pair of side components are integrated with the main portion of the hood component as a single monolithic piece.

11 . The clothing device of claim 9 , wherein a laser cutting process is employed to form apertures in the hood component to form the pair of side components.

12 . The clothing device of claim 9 , wherein the pair of side components are formed separately and later joined to the main portion of the hood component.

13 . A clothing device that provides a user with greater visibility while wearing a hoodie, the clothing device comprising:
a hood component comprising a main portion having two lateral sides, and a top and a back component contiguous with and connecting the two lateral sides and the back component and front hood edge; and a pair of side components; wherein the pair of side components are secured on either side of the hood component near eye level of a user; wherein the main portion of the hood component is opaque and the pair of side components are transparent; wherein the pair of side component comprise stitched edges for stiffening and maintaining the pair of side components in the hood component; wherein the pair of side components comprise a fabric reinforcement surrounding each side component, such as a grommet-like edge reinforcement; wherein the pair of side components provides a user with an unobstructed view of sides while wearing a hooded garment comprising the hood component; and further wherein the hooded garment comprises a body component and the hood component, which extends from an upper portion of the body component to generally provide an enclosure.

14 . The clothing device of claim 13 , wherein the pair of side components are integrated with the main portion of the hood component as a single monolithic piece.

15 . The clothing device of claim 13 , wherein a laser cutting process is employed to form apertures in the hood component to form the pair of side components.

16 . The clothing device of claim 13 , wherein the pair of side components are formed separately and later joined to the main portion of the hood component.

17 . The clothing device of claim 13 , wherein the pair of side components comprise a see-through fabric cover.

18 . The clothing device of claim 17 , wherein the pair of side components comprise a mesh pattern defining a plurality of apertures.

19 . The clothing device of claim 13 further comprising a plurality of indicia.

20 . A method of wearing an article of clothing with a hood while still maintaining visibility, the method comprising the following steps:
providing a clothing device comprising a hood component with a pair of transparent side components; positioning one of the pair of transparent side components on either side of the hood component, at eye level; putting on the clothing device with the hood component; and securing the hood component around a user's head while still maintaining visibility.
