. The convertible backpack shelter device of claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of walls are rigid.

. The convertible backpack shelter device of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of walls form a waterproof compartment.

. The convertible backpack shelter device of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of walls include a reflective material disposed on an internal surface thereof.

. The convertible backpack shelter device of claim 1 , wherein at least one air vent is disposed on the plurality of walls.

. The convertible backpack shelter device of claim 5 , wherein the at least one air vent is disposed on the top wall.

. The convertible backpack shelter device of claim 1 , wherein at least one transparent portion is defined on the plurality of walls.

. The convertible backpack shelter device of claim 7 , wherein the at least one transparent portion is disposed on the front wall of the housing compartment to allow for natural light to enter the housing compartment when in the extended configuration.

. The convertible backpack shelter device of claim 1 , further comprising a power storage unit.

. The convertible backpack shelter device of claim 9 , wherein the power storage unit is in operable connection with a solar panel disposed on an external surface of the housing compartment.

. The convertible backpack shelter device of claim 10 , wherein the power storage unit is a battery.

. The convertible backpack shelter device of claim 10 , wherein the solar panel is disposed on the external surface of the top wall.

. The convertible backpack shelter device of claim 1 , wherein a plurality of pockets is disposed on an external surface of the plurality of walls.

. The convertible backpack shelter device of claim 1 , further comprising a plurality of lights disposed on an interior surface of the housing compartment.

. The convertible backpack shelter device of claim 1 , wherein the top wall is removably securable to the housing compartment via a fastener.

. The convertible backpack shelter device of claim 15 , wherein the fastener is a zipper.

. The convertible backpack shelter device of claim 1 , further comprising an inflatable pad securable to the back wall of the housing compartment to provide cushioning to the back of a user.

. The convertible backpack shelter device of claim 17 , wherein the inflatable pad is secured to the housing compartment via a plurality of attachment rings.

. The convertible backpack shelter device of claim 17 , further comprising a plurality of baffles are provided to direct air flow through the inflatable pad.
