Abstract

A battery pack according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a plurality of battery cells, a cooling unit disposed between the plurality of battery cells along a lengthwise direction of the battery pack, and a side structure unit accommodating the cooling unit and the plurality of battery cells, wherein the battery cells, the cooling unit and the side structure unit are arranged at a preset distance ratio for close contact with each other.

1 . A battery pack, comprising:
 a plurality of battery cells;   a cooling unit disposed between the plurality of battery cells along a lengthwise direction of the battery pack; and   a side structure unit accommodating the cooling unit and the plurality of battery cells,   wherein the plurality of battery cells, the cooling unit and the side structure unit are arranged at a preset distance ratio and are in close contact with each other.   
     
     
         2 . The battery pack according to  claim 1 , wherein the side structure unit includes a first cell accommodation portion and a second cell accommodation portion,
 wherein the first cell accommodation portion and the second cell accommodation portion have a concave shape and are arranged in a staggering manner, and   wherein a distance between centers of the plurality of battery cells between the first cell accommodation portion and the second cell accommodation portion is determined according to a thickness of the side structure unit.   
     
     
         3 . The battery pack according to  claim 1 , wherein the cooling unit includes:
 a cooling tube disposed between the plurality of battery cells; and   a cooling channel disposed in the cooling tube to circulate a cooling fluid for cooling the plurality of battery cells, and   wherein a distance between centers of battery cells among the plurality of battery cells in contact with one surface of the cooling tube is determined based on a distance between centers of battery cells among the plurality of battery cells disposed opposite one another with the cooling tube interposed therebetween.   
     
     
         4 . The battery pack according to  claim 3 , wherein the distance between the centers of the battery cells disposed opposite one another with the cooling tube interposed therebetween is a thickness of the cooling tube. 
     
     
         5 . The battery pack according to  claim 2 , wherein a distance between centers of battery cells among the plurality of battery cells between the first cell accommodation portion and the second cell accommodation portion, a distance between centers of battery cells among the plurality of battery cells in contact with one surface of the cooling tube, and a distance between the centers of battery cells among the plurality of battery cells disposed opposite one another with the cooling tube interposed therebetween are determined based on a diameter of the plurality of battery cells, a thickness of the cooling tube and a contact angle between each battery cell and the cooling tube. 
     
     
         6 . The battery pack according to  claim 5 , wherein the contact angle between the battery cells disposed opposite one another and the cooling tube is approximately 60°. 
     
     
         7 . The battery pack according to  claim 2 , wherein a minimum thickness of the first cell accommodation portion and the second cell accommodation portion is half of the distance between the plurality of battery cells between the first cell accommodation portion and the second cell accommodation portion. 
     
     
         8 . The battery pack according to  claim 2 , wherein a predetermined gap space is formed in the first cell accommodation portion and the second cell accommodation portion upon receiving the plurality of battery cells in the first cell accommodation portion and the second cell accommodation portion. 
     
     
         9 . The battery pack according to  claim 8 , wherein the predetermined gap space is formed at a remaining area except an innermost area of a concave shape of the first cell accommodation portion and the second cell accommodation portion upon receiving the plurality of battery cells in the first cell accommodation portion and the second cell accommodation portion. 
     
     
         10 . The battery pack according to  claim 9 , wherein the plurality of battery cells come into contact with an inner surface of the first cell accommodation portion and the second cell accommodation portion only at the innermost area of the concave shape. 
     
     
         11 . The battery pack according to  claim 8 , wherein the predetermined gap space is filled with a filler member. 
     
     
         12 . A vehicle, comprising:
 the battery pack according to  claim 1 ,   wherein a lengthwise direction of the at least one battery pack is perpendicular to a lengthwise direction of the vehicle so that the side structure unit protects the plurality of battery cells in an event of a collision of the vehicle.
