Abstract
A roadway safety-edge-forming device is provided. The device is comprised of a body that can be attached to a blade of a grader or other similar machinery. The body is comprised of a plurality of edges. A portion of said edges extend below the bottom edge of the blade of the grader. As a result, the edges of the body create a channel within the ground surface/aggregate as the blade moves along said surface. The channel produced is sufficient to act as a safety edge.

a body comprised of an opening, a first edge, a second edge, a third edge, a fourth edge, and a fifth edge.
2 . The roadway safety-edge-forming device of claim 1 , wherein the first edge is perpendicular to the second edge.
3 . The roadway safety-edge-forming device of claim 1 , wherein the second edge is perpendicular to the third edge.
4 . The roadway safety-edge-forming device of claim 1 , wherein the third edge forms an obtuse angle with the fourth edge.
5 . The roadway safety-edge-forming device of claim 1 , wherein the fourth edge forms an obtuse angle with the fifth edge.
6 . The roadway safety-edge-forming device of claim 1 , wherein the body is comprised of a metal material.
7 . A roadway safety-edge-forming device comprising:
a body comprised of an opening, a first edge, a second edge, a third edge, a fourth edge, and a fifth edge; and a fastener.
8 . The roadway safety-edge-forming device of claim 7 , wherein the first edge is perpendicular to the second edge.
9 . The roadway safety-edge-forming device of claim 7 , wherein the second edge is perpendicular to the third edge.
10 . The roadway safety-edge-forming device of claim 7 , wherein the third edge forms an obtuse angle with the fourth edge.
11 . The roadway safety-edge-forming device of claim 7 , wherein the fourth edge forms an obtuse angle with the fifth edge.
12 . The roadway safety-edge-forming device of claim 7 , wherein the opening is comprised of a rectangular opening.
13 . The roadway safety-edge-forming device of claim 7 , wherein the fastener is comprised of a nut and a bolt.
14 . The roadway safety-edge-forming device of claim 7 , wherein the body is comprised of a metal material.
15 . A method of using a roadway safety-edge-forming device, the method comprising:
providing a roadway safety-edge-forming device comprised of a body comprised of an opening, a first edge, a second edge, and a third edge; attaching the roadway safety-edge-forming device to a blade of a grader via a fastener; and using the grader to level a ground surface.
16 . The method of using a roadway safety-edge-forming device of claim 15 comprised of positioning the body such that the first edge, the second edge, and the third edge extend below a bottom edge of the blade.
17 . The method of using a roadway safety-edge-forming device of claim 15 , wherein the first edge is perpendicular to the second edge.
18 . The method of using a roadway safety-edge-forming device of claim 15 , wherein the second edge forms an obtuse angle with the third edge.
19 . The method of using a roadway safety-edge-forming device of claim 15 , wherein the fastener is comprised of a nut and a bolt.
