User device method for wireless electronic table game scoreboard
Abstract
The present disclosure relates generally to a user device method for a wireless electronic table game scoreboard. A method includes a user device establishing a communication link to an electronic scoring system comprising an electronic scoreboard, and transmitting, to a data transmission module of the electronic scoring system, at least one game parameter for a game to be played using the electronic scoring system and an overlay video request. The method further includes the user device receiving, from the data transmission module a first score of the game, a second score of the game, and a first recorded video of the game. The first recorded video includes a graphical overlay generated by the electronic scoring system. Updates to the graphical overlay, are generated by the electronic scoring system in response to changes to at least one of the first score of the game or the second score of the game.

receiving, at the user device from the data transmission module, updates to the graphical overlay from the data transmission module; and displaying, on a display of the user device, updates to the first score and the second score of the game using the updates to the graphical overlay.
5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
receiving, at the user device from the data transmission module, a second recorded video, wherein the second recorded video includes a portion leading to an end of the game and includes an overlay having a winning graphic; interrupting playback of the first recorded video in response to an interrupt received at the user device from the data transmission module; and beginning playback of the second recorded video in response to receiving the interrupt.
6 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
receiving, at the user device from the data transmission module, a second recorded video, wherein the second recorded video that includes portions of the first recorded video featuring a most valuable player; interrupting playback of the first recorded video in response to an interrupt received at the user device from the data transmission module; and beginning playback of the second recorded video in response to receiving the interrupt.
7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
selecting, at the user device, that the at least one game parameter indicates that the game is to be a single-player game.
8 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
selecting, at the user device, a slow mode replay; and beginning playback, at the user device, of the first recorded video in the slow mode replay in response to selecting the slow mode replay.
9 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
selecting, at the user device, an entire video replay; and beginning playback, at the user device, of an entirety of the first recorded video.
10 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
selecting, at the user device, a portion of the first recorded video including a losing player reaction; and beginning playback, at the user device, of the portion of the first recorded video including the losing player reaction.
11 . A user device configured to communicate with an electronic scoring system, the user device comprising:
a processor; and a memory configured to store instructions that, when executed by the processor, execute an application configured to:
establish a communication link to a data transmission module of an electronic scoring system;
transmit, to the data transmission module, at least one game parameter for a game to be played using the electronic scoring system;
transmit, to the data transmission module, an overlay video request;
receive, from the data transmission module, a first score of the game, a second score of the game, and a first recorded video of the game, wherein the first recorded video includes a graphical overlay generated by the electronic scoring system; and
receive, from the data transmission module, updates to the graphical overlay, wherein the updates are generated by the electronic scoring system in response to changes to at least one of the first score of the game or the second score of the game.
12 . The user device of claim 11 , wherein the application is further configured to:
receive, from the data transmission module and prior to beginning the game, an application configured to enable a user to select the at least one game parameter from a plurality of game parameters.
13 . The user device of claim 12 , wherein the application is further configured to:
select, using the application, a time limit of the game to be tracked by a timer; and starting the timer in response to a user pressing a start button on a display of the user device.
14 . The user device of claim 11 , wherein the application is further configured to:
receive, from the data transmission module, updates to the graphical overlay from the data transmission module; and display, on a display of the user device, updates to the first score and the second score of the game using the updates to the graphical overlay.
15 . The user device of claim 11 , wherein the application is further configured to:
receive, at the user device from the data transmission module, a second recorded video, wherein the second recorded video includes a portion leading to an end of the game and includes an overlay having a winning graphic; interrupt playback of the first recorded video in response to an interrupt received from the data transmission module; and begin playback of the second recorded video in response to receiving the interrupt.
16 . The user device of claim 11 , wherein the application is further configured to:
receive, from the data transmission module, a second recorded video, wherein the second recorded video that includes portions of the first recorded video featuring a most valuable player; interrupting playback of the first recorded video in response to an interrupt received from the data transmission module; and begin playback of the second recorded video in response to receiving the interrupt.
