Systems and methods for extruded zippers, zipper garages, connection techniques, and uses therefore

Abstract

A slider garage includes an overmolded body, the overmolded body oriented on a zipper, the overmolded body including an overmolded male portion and an overmolded female portion, the overmolded male and female portions positioned on an end of the zipper, such that each is on one side of the zipper, the overmolded male portion being shaped such that it fits in the overmolded female portion in a watertight fashion and the overmolded body is molded over a portion of the zipper.

1 . A zipper comprising:
 a male zipper side;   a female zipper side;   a slider garage at one end of the zipper, the slider garage having a u-shape, the u-shape having a first side of the slider garage and a second side of the slider garage opposing each other and a third side between the first and the second side;   a first flange, wherein the first flange provides give and flexion to the zipper.   
     
     
         2 . The zipper of  claim 1 , wherein the first flange not exposed between the male zipper side and the female zipper side and the slider garage. 
     
     
         3 . The zipper of  claim 1 , wherein the first flange is on the male zipper side and the female zipper side. 
     
     
         4 . The zipper of  claim 1 , wherein the first flange attaches the zipper to another object. 
     
     
         5 . The zipper  claim 1 , further comprising, as second flange, the second flange extending from the slider garage. 
     
     
         6 . The zipper of  claim 5 , wherein the second flange is attached to the first flange to attach the slider garage. 
     
     
         7 . The zipper of  claim 6 , wherein the second flange is heat welded to the first flange. 
     
     
         8 . A zipper comprising:
 a male zipper side;   a female zipper side;
 a slider garage at one end of the zipper, the slider garage having a u-shape, the u-shape having a first side of the slider garage and a second side of the slider garage opposing each other and a third side between the first and the second side; 
   a slider, sliding on the male zipper side and the female zipper side and the slider garage, wherein the slider garage includes a raised flange   
     
     
         9 . The zipper of  claim 3 , wherein, the raised flange seals against the interior of the slider and prevents water from traveling into the aperture in the middle of the garage.
