Abstract
The present invention relates to a golf club head having an adjustable weight assembly and fibrous fill. For example, the golf club head may include an internal cavity including a fibrous fill. The golf club head may include an adjustable weight assembly utilizing a weight member securable via a fastener along various positions within an elongate channel.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A golf club head comprising:
a striking face portion located at a frontal portion of said golf club head; a body portion attached to a rear of said striking face portion; an internal cavity defined by said striking face portion and said body portion; and wherein said body portion incorporates a weight adjustment portion further comprising;
an elongate channel further comprising a plurality of scalloped depressions along a lower wall of said elongate channel,
a weight member having a fastener receiving aperture, and
a fastener further comprising a fastener head and a threaded shaft,
wherein said fastener head is adapted to engage at least one of said plurality of scalloped depressions to secure said weight member within said elongate channel.
2 . The golf club head of claim 1 , wherein said internal cavity further comprises a fibrous fill.
3 . The golf club head of claim 2 , wherein said fibrous fill comprises one of cotton, ceramic fiber, and glass fiber.
4 . The golf club head of claim 2 , wherein said fibrous fill fills more than about 25% of an internal cavity volume.
5 . The golf club head of claim 2 , wherein said golf club head comprises a total volume, and wherein said fibrous fill fills more than about 30% of said total volume.
6 . The golf club head of claim 2 , wherein said fibrous fill comprises a first density that is less than about 15% of a striking face density.
7 . The golf club head of claim 2 , wherein said fibrous fill comprises a first weight that is less than 30% of a total weight.
8 . A golf club head comprising:
a striking face portion located at a frontal portion of said golf club head; a body portion attached to a rear of said striking face portion; and an internal cavity defined by said striking face portion and said body portion, wherein said internal cavity comprises a fibrous fill.
9 . The golf club head of claim 8 , wherein said fibrous fill comprises one of cotton, ceramic fiber, and glass fiber.
10 . The golf club head of claim 8 , wherein said fibrous fill fills more than about 25% of an internal cavity volume.
11 . The golf club head of claim 8 , wherein said golf club head comprises a total volume, and wherein said fibrous fill comprises more than about 30% of said total volume.
12 . The golf club head of claim 8 , wherein said fibrous fill comprises a first density that is less than about 15% of a striking face density.
13 . The golf club head of claim 8 , wherein said fibrous fill comprises a first weight that is less than 30% of a total weight.
14 . A golf club head comprising:
a striking face portion located at a frontal portion of said golf club head; a body portion attached to a rear of said striking face portion; and an internal cavity defined by said striking face portion and said body portion, wherein said internal cavity comprises a fibrous fill, and wherein said fibrous fill fills more than about 25% of an internal cavity volume.
15 . The golf club head of claim 14 , wherein said fibrous fill comprises one of cotton, ceramic fiber, and glass fiber.
16 . The golf club head of claim 14 , wherein said golf club head comprises a total volume, and wherein said fibrous fill comprises more than about 30% of said total volume.
17 . The golf club head of claim 14 , wherein said fibrous fill comprises a first density that is less than about 15% of a striking face density.
18 . The golf club head of claim 14 , wherein said fibrous fill comprises a first weight that is less than 30% of a total weight.
19 . The golf club head of claim 14 , wherein said fibrous fill comprises one of natural fibers and synthetic fibers.
20 . The golf club head of claim 14 , wherein said fibrous fill comprises one of loose fibers and mats.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
