Abstract
Electronic hoop spinning game uses a spinning hoop carried by a user's rotating hip. Hoop carries a passive or active transmitter and spaced apart stationary receiver senses each pass of the hoop-transmitter. Controller, coupled to receiver, has a counter spin-count-passes. Controller, coupled to display, visually shows hoop count. Controller/receiver may be on and in a cell phone as an APP. Hoop-transmitter in removable wrap-around flexible carrier on hoop. Display may be integrated with controller or separate or a phone screen. Controller and spin-counter-memory maintains hoop count data. Sometimes controller transmits count data to computer-enabled device, game console/controller, set top box, or streaming video player. Display may be TV or monitor. User actuatable (UA) input module accepts ON-OFF, reset and player designation commands. When reset, controller alters count data to predetermined or saved number (player 1 - 2 count).

1 . An electronic hoop spinning game operable on a rotating hip of a user comprising:
a hoop adapted to twirl about the rotating hip of the user, the hoop having a substantially circular cross-sectional shape;
a passive or an active transmitter mounted on the hoop;
a stationary receiver disposed apart from but within the range of the hoop-mounted transmitter;
a controller coupled to the receiver, the controller having a counter for counting the passing of the hoop-mounted transmitter past the receiver, and the controller coupled to a display;
wherein when the controller maintains a count of the number of times the hoop-mounted transmitter passes the receiver as a hoop count and engages the display to visually present the hoop count to the user.

The game as claimed in claim 1 wherein the hoop-mounted transmitter is disposed in a flexible carrier adapted to be wrapped around a segment of the hoop, the flexible carrier being removably attachable to the hoop and the carrier having a releasable closure mechanism to enable the carrier to be wrapped around the hoop segment.
3 . The game as claimed in claim 2 wherein the display is a display screen disposed separate and apart from the controller.
4 . The game as claimed in claim 3 wherein the controller has a memory coupled thereto, the controller also has a transceiver coupled to the controller and the memory, controller maintaining the hoop count as hoop count data in the memory, and the controller transmitting the hoop count data to a computer-enabled device.
5 . The game as claimed in claim 4 wherein the computer-enabled device is one of a tablet computer, a cell phone, a desktop computer, a laptop computer, a game console, set top box, and a streaming video player.
6 . The game as claimed in claim 4 wherein the display screen is a television or monitor.
7 . The game as claimed in claim 4 including a user actuatable (UA) input module coupled to the controller, the UA module accepting ON-OFF commands, a reset count command, and a player designator command, in the presence of the reset command the controller altering the hoop count data to a predetermined number, and in the presence of the player designator command the controller assigning the hoop count data to a designated player.
8 . An electronic hoop spinning game operable on a rotating hip of a user and adapted to communicate with the user's cell phone comprising:
a hoop adapted to twirl about the rotating hip of the user, the hoop having a substantially circular cross-sectional shape; a transmitter mounted on the hoop, the hoop-mounted transmitter having a cell phone transceiver module in communication with the user's cell phone; the user's cell phone having an APP operating as a stationary receiver within the range of the hoop-mounted transmitter; the APP having a counter for counting the passing of the hoop-mounted transmitter past the stationary receiver, and the APP engaging a cell phone display screen for presentation of a hoop count to the user, the APP maintaining hoop count data of the number of times the hoop-mounted transmitter passes the stationary receiver and engages the cell phone display to visually present the hoop count data to the user.

The game as claimed in claim 7 wherein the hoop-mounted transmitter is disposed in a flexible carrier adapted to be wrapped around a segment of the hoop, the flexible carrier being removably attachable to the hoop and the carrier having a releasable closure mechanism to enable the carrier to be wrapped around the hoop segment.

The game as claimed in claim 8 wherein the APP includes a user actuatable (UA) input module, the UA module accepting ON-OFF user commands, a reset count command, and a player designator command, in the presence of the reset command the APP altering the hoop count data to a predetermined number, and in the presence of the player designator command the APP assigning the hoop count data to a designated player.
11 . An electronic hoop spinning game operable on a rotating hip of a user comprising:
a hoop adapted to twirl about the rotating hip of the user, the hoop having a substantially circular cross-sectional shape; a color differentiated element mounted on a hoop segment, the color differentiated element having a different color or light reflective characteristic than a remainder of the hoop other than the hoop segment; a stationary sensor receiver disposed apart from but within the visual range of the color differentiated element; a controller coupled to the sensor receiver, the controller having a counter for counting the passing of the color differentiated element past the sensor receiver, and the controller coupled to a display; wherein when the controller maintains a count of the number of times the color differentiated element passes the sensor receiver as a hoop count and engages the display to visually present the hoop count to the user.
12 . The game as claimed in claim 11 wherein the color differentiated element is a flexible carrier adapted to be wrapped around the hoop segment, the flexible carrier being removably attachable to the hoop and the carrier having a releasable closure mechanism to enable the carrier to be wrapped around the hoop segment.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
