Combustion chamber subassembly for a vaporizing burner
Abstract
A combustion chamber subassembly for a vaporizing burner, in particular for a fuel-operated vehicle heating device, includes a combustion chamber housing having a circumferential wall which extends in the direction of a longitudinal housing axis. The circumferential wall surrounds a combustion chamber in a radially outward direction. The combustion chamber has a combustion chamber base which delimits the combustion chamber in an axial direction. A porous vaporizing medium is provided at a side, facing the combustion chamber, of the combustion chamber base. The porous vaporizing medium is concave-curved with respect to the combustion chamber at the side thereof facing the combustion chamber.

2 . The combustion chamber subassembly of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the following applies:
i) said porous vaporizing medium is concave-curved with respect to said combustion chamber; and, ii) said porous vaporizing medium has a substantially constant thickness.
3 . The combustion chamber subassembly of claim 1 , further comprising:
a fuel supply line opening in said combustion chamber base in a radially central region; and, said porous vaporizing medium having a curvature apex in said radially central region.
4 . The combustion chamber subassembly of claim 1 , wherein said combustion chamber base has a vaporizing medium abutment face at said side of said combustion chamber base facing said combustion chamber; and, said vaporizing medium abutment face is concave-curved with respect to said combustion chamber.
5 . The combustion chamber subassembly of claim 4 , wherein a curvature geometry of said vaporizing medium abutment face corresponds to a curvature geometry of said porous vaporizing medium at said side thereof facing said combustion chamber.
6 . The combustion chamber subassembly of claim 4 , wherein said combustion chamber base includes a base wall which provides at least a portion of said vaporizing medium abutment face.
7 . The combustion chamber subassembly of claim 6 , wherein said base wall defines all of said vaporizing medium abutment face.
8 . The combustion chamber subassembly of claim 6 , wherein:
said base wall has a side facing toward said combustion chamber and a recess open toward said side thereof facing toward said combustion chamber; said recess receives a porous distribution medium therein; and, a first portion of said vaporizing medium abutment face is provided on said base wall and a second portion of said vaporizing medium abutment face is provided on said porous distribution medium.
9 . The combustion chamber subassembly of claim 8 , wherein at least one of the following applies:
i) said first portion of said vaporizing medium abutment face annularly surrounds said second portion of said vaporizing medium abutment face; ii) said porous distribution medium is arranged in a centered manner with respect to said longitudinal housing axis; and, iii) said porous distribution medium has a greater porosity than the porous vaporizing medium.
10 . The combustion chamber subassembly of claim 8 , wherein:
said porous distribution medium is curved at a side thereof facing away from said vaporizing medium abutment face; and, a curvature geometry of said porous distribution medium at said side thereof facing away from said vaporizing medium abutment face corresponds to a curvature geometry of said porous distribution medium in said second portion of said vaporizing medium abutment face and/or said porous distribution medium has a constant thickness.
11 . The combustion chamber subassembly of claim 8 , wherein:
said porous distribution medium has a side facing away from said vaporization medium abutment face; said porous distribution medium extends orthogonally relative to said longitudinal housing axis at said side thereof facing away from said vaporizing medium abutment face; and, said porous distribution medium has a thickness increasing in a radially outward direction.
12 . The combustion chamber subassembly of claim 6 , further comprising:
said base wall having a side facing away from said vaporizing medium abutment face; and, insulation material arranged at said side of said base wall.
13 . The combustion chamber subassembly of claim 1 , wherein said porous vaporizing medium is fixed at the outer circumference thereof with respect to said combustion chamber base.
14 . The combustion chamber subassembly of claim 6 , wherein said combustion chamber base includes a retention element annularly surrounding said base wall; and, said retention element includes at least one retention projection configured to retain said porous vaporizing medium against said base wall at said side thereof facing said combustion chamber.
15 . The combustion chamber subassembly of claim 1 , wherein said combustion chamber subassembly is for a vaporing burner including a fuel-operated vehicle heating device.
16 . A fuel-operated vehicle heating device comprising:
a burner area; said burner area including a combustion chamber subassembly; said combustion chamber subassembly including: a combustion chamber housing having a circumferential wall extending along a longitudinal housing axis; said circumferential wall surrounding a combustion chamber in a radially outward direction; said combustion chamber housing further having a combustion chamber base delimiting said combustion chamber in an axial direction; said combustion chamber base having a side facing said combustion chamber; a porous vaporizing medium being provided at said side of said combustion chamber base; and, said porous vaporizing medium having a side facing said combustion chamber and being concave-curved with respect to said combustion chamber at said side of said porous vaporizing medium facing said combustion chamber.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
