1 . A hammock assembly, comprising:
a hammock body having a frame maintained with a pair of spreader bars; the spreader bars secured along each short edge of the hammock body; a suspension system supporting each short edge of the hammock body; a detachable cover coupled and suspended over the hammock body; and a cover suspension system having suspension lines secured to the suspension system.
2 . The hammock assembly of claim 1 , wherein each short edge is positioned on opposing sides of the hammock body.
3 . The hammock assembly of claim 2 , wherein the hammock body further includes a pair of long edges adjacent each short edge.
4 . The hammock assembly of claim 3 , wherein the suspension system includes a pair of suspension devices.
5 . The hammock assembly of claim 4 , wherein the suspension system forms a suspension triangle extending out from each of the short edges.
6 . The hammock assembly of claim 5 , wherein the cover corresponds to those dimensions of the hammock body.
7 . The hammock assembly of claim 6 , wherein a perimeter of the cover is detachably secured to the hammock body using a zipper fastener system.
8 . The hammock assembly of claim 7 , wherein the cover further includes side panels.
9 . The hammock assembly of claim 8 , wherein the side panels are angled from the suspension lines downwards to join with the long edges of the hammock body.
10 . The hammock assembly of claim 9 , wherein the angle at which the side panels of the cover drops down to be joined to the long edges of the hammock body is greater than 55 degrees.
11 . A hammock assembly, comprising:
a hammock body having a pair of long edges and a pair of short edges; a cover suspended over the hammock body and detachable to the hammock body;
a zipper fastening system coupling the cover and the hammock body;
a suspension system supporting each short edge of the hammock body;
a cover suspension system having suspension lines secured to the suspension system.
12 . The hammock assembly of claim 11 , wherein the cover is formed of a first material and a second material.
13 . The hammock assembly of claim 12 , wherein the first material is formed of nylon, cotton, silk, polyester, polypropylene, polyethylene, or polytetrafluoroethylene, and the second material is a netting material.
14 . The hammock assembly of claim 13 , wherein the second material constitutes a sufficient percentage of the cover to permit adequate ventilation from an enclosed space between the hammock and the cover.
15 . The hammock assembly of claim 11 , wherein the hammock assembly further comprises a pair of spreader bars secured along each of the short edges, to maintain the hammock body in an open configuration in a width orientation.
16 . The hammock assembly of claim 15 , wherein the cover corresponds to the dimensions of the hammock body.
17 . The hammock assembly of claim 16 , wherein each suspension line is secured to a hammock suspension device that support the hammock body.
18 . The hammock assembly of claim 17 , wherein each suspension line extends longitudinally above a length of the hammock body.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
