Container wth removable cap

Abstract

The container includes a flexible container body that has a closed bottom end and a top end with a lip that protrudes radially outward. The container has a cap that has first threads. The container also has a hollow bottom ring that has second threads that threadingly engage the first threads. The bottom ring has an open top defined by a top edge and an open bottom. The container body passes through the hollow bottom ring with the lip seating against the top edge of the bottom ring and in a sealed closed position, the cap is attached to the bottom ring to close off and seal the flexible container body.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A container comprising:
 a flexible container body that has a closed bottom end and a top end with a lip that protrudes radially outward;   a cap that has first threads; and   a hollow bottom ring that has second threads that threadingly engage the first threads, the bottom ring having an open top defined by a top edge and an open bottom;   wherein the container body passes through the hollow bottom ring with the lip seating against the top edge of the bottom ring;   wherein in a sealed closed position, the cap is attached to the bottom ring to close off and seal the flexible container body.   
     
     
         2 . The container of  claim 1 , wherein the first threads are inner threads and the second threads are outer threads. 
     
     
         3 . The container of  claim 1 , wherein the flexible container body is formed of silicone. 
     
     
         4 . The container of  claim 1 , wherein the flexible container body has a stepped construction in that a side wall has an area of reduced diameter defined by a shoulder, the area of reduced diameter being formed between the lip and the shoulder. 
     
     
         5 . The container of  claim 4 , wherein the bottom ring is disposed above the shoulder of the flexible container body. 
     
     
         6 . The container of  claim 4 , wherein the lip protrudes radially outward from the area of reduced diameter. 
     
     
         7 . The container of  claim 1 , wherein the bottom ring has a shoulder formed below the second threads, wherein in the sealed closed position, the cap seats against the shoulder of the bottom ring. 
     
     
         8 . The container of  claim 1 , wherein the flexible container body is foldable such that the folded flexible container body can be received through a center opening of the bottom ring to position the lip against the top edge, wherein an outer diameter of the lip is greater than an outer diameter of the top edge. 
     
     
         9 . The container of  claim 7 , wherein the second threads are located between the top edge and the shoulder.
