Abstract

The present invention relates to as consumable for an aerosol generating device comprising particles of at least one electrically conductive material, at least one binding agent for binding the particles, at least one aerosol forming agent and at least one flavorant material.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A consumable for a vaporizer, wherein the consumable comprises:
particles of at least one electrically conductive material and at least one binding agent for binding the particles, at least one aerosol forming agent, and at least one flavorant material.

         2 . The consumable according to claim 1 ,
wherein the particles of electrically conductive material are present in an amount of 35 to 60 wt %, based on total weight of the consumable, and wherein the binding agent, the aerosol forming agent and the flavorant material together are present in an amount of 40 to 65 wt %, based on the total weight of the consumable.

         3 . The consumable according to claim 1 ,
wherein the electrically conductive material is an electrically conductive carbon-containing material.

         4 . The consumable according to claim 1 ,
wherein the particles of the electrically conductive material have a particle size in the range of 1 μm to 10 mm.

         5 . The consumable according to claim 1 ,
wherein the particles of the flavorant material are tobacco particles obtained from ground tobacco leaves, pulverized tobacco leaves or flue cured tobacco (FCT), and wherein the tobacco particles have a particle size in the range of 200 μm to 5 mm.

         6 . The consumable according to claim 1 ,
wherein the at least one binding agent is present in an amount of 0.1 to 7 wt % based on the total weight of the consumable, wherein the at least one binding agent comprises at least one of a cellulose derivative and a gum, and wherein the cellulose derivative is comprises carboxymethyl cellulose and the gum comprises gellan gum.

         7 . The consumable according to claim 1 ,
wherein the at least one aerosol forming agent is present in an amount of 5 to 75 wt % based on the total weight of the consumable, and wherein the at least one aerosol forming agent is a humectant, comprising glycerin, propylene glycol, or an alcohol.

8 . The consumable according to claim 1 , wherein
the at least one electrically conductive material comprises charcoal particles and the flavorant material comprises tobacco particles, and the at least one binding agent comprises carboxymethyl cellulose and gellan gum, and glycerin.

         9 . The consumable according to claim 1 ,
wherein the electrical conductivity of the consumable is at least 3×10 2 S/m (at 20° C.).

         10 . The consumable according to claim 1 ,
wherein the at least one binding agent and the least one aerosol forming agent form a gel, wherein the weight ratio of gel to electrically conductive material is between 0.01:1 to 100:1, and wherein the weight ratio of gel to electrically conductive material is between about 2:1 and about 1:1.

11 . An aerosol generating device comprising the consumable of claim 1 .

12 . A method for manufacturing a consumable for a vaporizer, comprising the steps of:
 i) providing particles of at least one electrically conductive material and a flavorant material, ii) mixing the particles and the flavorant material with at least one binding agent for binding the particles, at least one aerosol forming agent, and water, and iii) solidifying the mixture by curing and/or drying.

         13 . The method according to claim 12 ,
wherein the binding agent, the aerosol forming agent and the water form a gel-forming agent, wherein the weight ratio of gel-forming agent to electrically conductive material is between 0.01:1 to 100:1, and wherein the weight ratio of gel-forming agent to electrically conductive material is between about 2:1 and 1:1.

14 . A method of generating an aerosol, the method comprising the steps of:
 i) providing a consumable according to claim 1 , ii) arranging the consumable, in layer form, between two electrodes of an aerosol generating device, iii) pressing the electrodes on the consumable, iv) supplying the electrodes with a current, wherein the consumable conducts the current between the electrodes, and v) heating the consumable, thereby creating an aerosol.

15 . The consumable according to claim 3 , wherein the electrically conductive carbon-containing material comprises charcoal, activated carbon, black carbon or graphite.

16 . The consumable according to claim 4 , wherein the particles of the electrically conductive material have a particle size in the range of 100 μm to 500 μm.
