Bed Sheet Apparatus

Abstract

A bed sheet apparatus including a fitted sheet and a top sheet wherein said sheets are coupled together. The fitted sheet is connected to the top sheet in a manner that allows for the fitted sheet to be secured onto the bed, while the top sheet traverses over the top surface of the fitted sheet. In some cases, the top sheet is coupled to the elastic band of the fitted sheet. In other cases, the top sheet is coupled near the foot of the fitted sheet. A portion of the top sheet may hang over the edge of the fitted sheet to create the illusion of a separate fitted and top sheet system.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A bed sheet apparatus comprising:
 a fitted sheet;   a top sheet; and   a connection point between the fitted sheet and the top sheet wherein said connection point is located on an underside of the fitted sheet;   the top sheet traversing from the connection point on the underside of the fitted sheet to a top facing side of the fitted sheet wherein the top sheet covers at least a portion of said top facing side of the fitted sheet.   
     
     
         2 . The bed sheet apparatus as claimed in  claim 1  wherein the fitted sheet comprises an interior surface and an exterior surface;
 the interior surface composing the surface that is adjacent to a mattress; and 
 the exterior surface being the outwardly facing surface, opposite the interior surface. 
 
     
     
         3 . The bed sheet apparatus as claimed in  claim 2  wherein the top cover comprises a top surface and a bottom surface;
 the bottom surface being adjacent to the exterior surface of the fitted sheet; and 
 the top surface being the outwardly facing surface, opposite from the bottom surface. 
 
     
     
         4 . The bed sheet apparatus as claimed in  claim 2 , the exterior surface of the fitted sheet comprises:
 a top portion; and   a plurality of lateral sides;   the top portion of the fitted sheet being the uppermost portion of the fitted sheet; and   the plurality of lateral sides traversing around the vertical sides of a mattress;   the plurality of lateral sides adjacent to the top portion of the fitted sheet, about the perimeter of the top portion of the fitted sheet.   
     
     
         5 . The bed sheet apparatus as claimed in  claim 4 , wherein the plurality of lateral sides comprises an at least one pocket located on the exterior surface of the fitted sheet. 
     
     
         6 . The bed sheet apparatus as claimed in  claim 5 , wherein the at least one pocket comprises a through hole. 
     
     
         7 . The bed sheet apparatus as claimed in  claim 2  further comprising a bottom portion wherein said bottom portion covers a distal portion about the perimeter of an underside of a mattress. 
     
     
         8 . The bed sheet apparatus as claimed in  claim 7  further comprising an elastic band about the perimeter of the bottom portion of the fitted sheet. 
     
     
         9 . A bed sheet apparatus comprising:
 a fitted sheet;   a top sheet; and   a connection point between the fitted sheet and the top sheet wherein said connection point is located at the foot of the fitted sheet;   the top sheet hanging from the connection point at the foot of the fitted sheet, and folding upward, thus traversing an at least a portion of a top facing side of the fitted sheet.   
     
     
         10 . The bed sheet apparatus as claimed in  claim 9  wherein the fitted sheet comprises an interior surface and an exterior surface;
 the interior surface composing the surface that is adjacent to a mattress; and 
 the exterior surface being the outwardly facing surface, opposite the interior surface. 
 
     
     
         11 . The bed sheet apparatus as claimed in  claim 10  wherein the top cover comprises a top surface and a bottom surface;
 the bottom surface being adjacent to the exterior surface of the fitted sheet; and 
 the top surface being the outwardly facing surface, opposite from the bottom surface. 
 
     
     
         12 . The bed sheet apparatus as claimed in  claim 10 , the exterior surface of the fitted sheet comprises:
 a top portion; and   a plurality of lateral sides;   the top portion of the fitted sheet being the uppermost portion of the fitted sheet; and   the plurality of lateral sides traversing around the vertical sides of a mattress;   the plurality of lateral sides adjacent to the top portion of the fitted sheet, about the perimeter of the top portion of the fitted sheet.   
     
     
         13 . The bed sheet apparatus as claimed in  claim 12 , wherein the plurality of lateral sides comprises an at least one pocket located on the exterior surface of the fitted sheet. 
     
     
         14 . The bed sheet apparatus as claimed in  claim 13 , wherein the at least one pocket comprises a through hole. 
     
     
         15 . The bed sheet apparatus as claimed in  claim 10  further comprising a bottom portion wherein said bottom portion covers a distal portion about the perimeter of an underside of a mattress. 
     
     
         16 . The bed sheet apparatus as claimed in  claim 15  further comprising an elastic band about the perimeter of the bottom portion of the fitted sheet. 
     
     
         17 . A bed sheet apparatus comprising:
 a fitted sheet;   a top sheet; and   a connection point between the fitted sheet and the top sheet wherein said connection point is a junction point wherein the top sheet connects to the fitted sheet;   the top sheet traversing from the connection point and covers at least a portion of the top facing side of the fitted sheet.   
     
     
         18 . The bed sheet apparatus as claimed in  claim 17  wherein the fitted sheet comprises:
 an exterior surface comprising:
 a top surface; 
 a plurality of lateral sides; and 
 a bottom portion; and 
 
 an interior surface comprising:
 a top portion; 
 a bottom portion; and 
 a plurality of lateral sides; and 
 
 a bottom portion comprising an elastic band, said band traversing the distal perimeter of the bottom portion of the fitted sheet; 
 the interior surface of the fitted sheet being the inwardly facing surface of the fitted sheet wherein said surface, when in use, contacts a mattress; and 
 the exterior surface being the outwardly facing surface, opposite the interior surface. 
 
     
     
         19 . The bed sheet apparatus as claimed in  claim 17 , wherein the top sheet comprises a top surface and a bottom surface wherein the bottom surface contacts the topmost surface of the fitted sheet, and the top surface of the top sheet is the outwardly facing surface, opposite the bottom surface. 
     
     
         20 . The bed sheet apparatus as claimed in  claim 17  wherein the connection point is selected from the group consisting of:
 a plurality of hooks; 
 a plurality of loops; 
 a plurality of snaps; 
 a hook and loop fastener; 
 a plurality of buttons; 
 a plurality of manual fasteners; 
 double sided tape; 
 stitching; and 
 glue.
