Claims

Abstract

The present disclosure is designed to prevent inhibition of range of motion that may arise from wearing inadequate clothing during activities. The embodiments disclosed herein allow a wearer to experience a full range of motion within, around and by the muscles, tendons and joints by placing fabric inserts at key areas, known as anchor points, on clothing. The stretch capacity of the fabric of the clothing and inserts is factored with the wearer's measurements and desired range of motion to maximize the wearer's range of motion during all activity.

We claim: 
     
         1 . A method for creating clothing for a specific activity comprising:
 obtaining measurements of a wearer's body;   classifying the wearer's range of motion;   using the classification to determine a fabric type;   creating the clothing by utilizing the fabric type at one or more anchor points of the clothing such that the wearer can perform the specific activity.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1  wherein the fabric type at the one or more anchor points comprises a first fabric type that is different than a fabric type of a remainder of the clothing. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1  wherein the one or more anchor points are configured to be disposed at one or more of above a knee, over a crotch portion of posterior blocks of pants, in front of a shoulder, behind the shoulder, above an elbow, between shoulder blades and at a center of a back of a waistline. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1  wherein measurements of the wearer's body are obtained through digital scanning. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1  wherein the clothing comprises one of leggings, pants, sweat pants, ski apparel, shorts, jackets, long-sleeved shirts, short-sleeved shirts, undershirts, underwear and gloves and the specific activity comprises yoga, baseball, football, soccer, weight-lifting, squatting, running, jogging, throwing, golfing, basketball, hockey, field hockey, lacrosse, pole vaulting and skiing. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 2  wherein a stretch capacity of the first fabric type is greater than a stretch capacity of the fabric type of the remainder of the clothing. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 2  wherein a stretch capacity of the first fabric type is less than a stretch capacity of the fabric type of the remainder of the clothing. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 1  wherein the wearer self-classifies their range of motion. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 1  wherein the determination of fabric type is correlated to the classification of the range of motion. 
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 9  further comprising a determination of a stretch capacity of the fabric type based on the classification of the range of motion. 
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 10  wherein the stretch capacity of the fabric type is high when the wearer has a high degree of flexibility. 
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 3  wherein placement of the one or more anchor points correlates to one or more areas of maximum stretch achieved during performance of the specific activity. 
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 1  wherein a size of the fabric type is based upon the measurements of the wearer's body. 
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 6  further comprising placement of the one or more anchor points at one or more areas of maximum stretch achieved during performance of the specific activity. 
     
     
         15 . The method of  claim 14  wherein the clothing is leggings, the specific activity is yoga and the anchor points are configured to be disposed of above a knee, over a crotch portion of posterior blocks of the leggings, and at a center of a back of a waistline. 
     
     
         16 . A method for creating clothing for a specific activity comprising:
 obtaining measurements of a wearer's body;   classifying the wearer's range of motion;   using the classification to determine a fabric type;   creating the clothing by utilizing the fabric type at one or more anchor points of the clothing such that the wearer can perform the specific activity and the fabric type is configured to be located over at least one golgi tendon organ of the wearer wherein the clothing is configured such that the at least one golgi tendon organ is sensitized to movement of the wearer without creating inhibitory signals based on a stretch capacity of a fabric type of a remainder of the clothing.   
     
     
         17 . The method of  claim 16  wherein the fabric type at the one or more anchor points comprises a first fabric type that is different than the fabric type of the remainder of the clothing. 
     
     
         18 . The method of  claim 16  wherein measurements of the wearer's body are obtained through digital scanning. 
     
     
         19 . The method of  claim 16  wherein a stretch capacity of the first fabric type is greater than the stretch capacity of the fabric type of the remainder of the clothing. 
     
     
         20 . A method for creating clothing for a specific activity comprising:
 obtaining measurements of a wearer's body;   classifying the wearer's range of motion;   using the classification to determine a fabric type;   creating the clothing by utilizing the fabric type at one or more anchor points of the clothing such that the wearer can perform the specific activity and the fabric type is configured to be located over at least one golgi tendon organ of the wearer wherein the clothing is configured such that the at least one golgi tendon organ is de-sensitized to movement of the wearer.
