Baby onesie having zipper locking mechanism

Abstract

A baby onesie to be worn by a baby includes body covering material configured to cover a body of the body, the body covering material including an opening through which the baby's head can protrude out from, a neckline provided around a perimeter of the opening, the neckline including a neckline fastener configured to be fastened and unfastened to thereby close and open the neckline, respectively, a zipper configured to open and close the body covering material, and a zipper locking mechanism attached to the zipper, the zipper locking mechanism configured to selectively attach to the neckline fastener and thereby lock the zipper in place according to whether the neckline fastener is fastened or unfastened.

         21 . An article of clothing, comprising:
 a body portion;   a first leg covering portion;   a second leg covering portion;   a first arm covering portion;   a second arm covering portion;   a torso covering portion;   a neckline defining a neckline opening for receiving a neck of a wearer, the neckline having a neckline fastener movable between a fastened state and an unfastened state to close and open the neckline;   a zipper track having a zipper track first end at the neckline and a zipper track second end within the first leg covering portion, the zipper track extending through the torso covering portion;   a zipper associated with the zipper track, the zipper movable between a closed position at the zipper track first end and an open position at the zipper track second end; and   a zipper lock associated with the zipper, the zipper lock including a loop for receiving at least a portion of the neckline when the zipper is in the closed position and the neckline fastener is in the fastened state such that an unzipping force applied to the zipper disperses the unzipping force through the neckline to the neck of the wearer when the zipper is in the closed position, the at least a portion of the neckline is received by the loop, and the neckline fastener is in the fastened state.   
     
     
         22 . The article of clothing of  claim 21 , wherein the neckline includes a first end and a second end, the first end being fastened to the second end when the neckline fastener is in the fastened state, the first end being separable from the second end when the neckline fastener is in the unfastened state. 
     
     
         23 . The article of clothing of  claim 22 , wherein the second end includes a covering portion, the neckline fastener being covered by the covering portion when the neckline fastener is in the fastened state. 
     
     
         24 . The article of clothing of  claim 23 , wherein the covering portion is a flap movable between an open state and a closed state. 
     
     
         25 . The article of clothing of  claim 21 , further comprising an additional zipper associated with the zipper track, the additional zipper being in a closed configuration when moved to the zipper track second end, the additional zipper being movable out of the closed configuration while the zipper is in the closed position, the at least a portion of the neckline is received by the loop, and the neckline fastener is in the fastened state. 
     
     
         26 . The article of clothing of  claim 21 , wherein the article of clothing is a babie onsie. 
     
     
         27 . The article of clothing of  claim 21 , wherein the neckline fastener includes a swivel lobster claw clasp fastener, a hook and loop fastener, a hook and eye latch, or a buckle. 
     
     
         28 . The article of clothing of  claim 21 , wherein the zipper includes a zipper pull having an opening, the neckline fastener being in the fastened state when at least a portion of the neckline fastener passes through the opening of the zipper pull to lock the zipper in the closed position. 
     
     
         29 . The article of clothing of  claim 21 , wherein the neckline includes a first end and a second end, wherein the neckline fastener is in the fastened state when the first end is fastened with the second end. 
     
     
         30 . The article of clothing of  claim 29 , wherein the neckline includes a flap positioned to cover at least one of the first end and the second end when the neckline fastener is in the fastened state. 
     
     
         31 . The article of clothing of  claim 29 , wherein the neckline opening is in the fastened state when the flap covers at least one of the first end and the second end. 
     
     
         32 . The article of clothing of  claim 29 , wherein the second end includes a region of padded material to prevent the neckline fastener from contacting a skin of the wearer when the wearer is wearing the article of clothing and the neckline fastener is in the fastened state. 
     
     
         33 . The article of clothing of  claim 29 , wherein the second end includes a covering portion, the neckline fastener being covered by the covering portion when the neckline fastener is in the fastened state. 
     
     
         34 . The article of clothing of  claim 21 , wherein the article of clothing further comprises an additional zipper associated with the zipper track, the additional zipper being in a closed configuration when moved to the zipper track second end. 
     
     
         35 . The article of clothing of  claim 34 , further comprising an additional zipper opening that is revealed when the additional zipper is moved towards the zipper track first end and the zipper is locked in the closed position. 
     
     
         36 . An article of clothing, comprising:
 a leg covering portion;   a torso covering portion;   a neckline having a neckline fastener that is movable between a fastened state and an unfastened state;   a zipper track having a zipper track first end at the neckline and a zipper track second end within the leg covering portion;   a zipper associated with the zipper track, the zipper being movable between a closed position at the zipper track first end and an open position at the zipper track second end; and   a zipper lock including a loop for receiving at least a portion of the neckline when the zipper is in the closed position and the neckline fastener is in the fastened state, the zipper being configured to receive an unzipping force, the unzipping force being dispersed through the neckline to the neck of the wearer when
 (a) the zipper is in the closed position, 
 (b) the at least a portion of the neckline is received by the loop, and 
 (c) the neckline fastener is in the fastened state. 
   
     
     
         37 . The article of clothing of  claim 36 , wherein the neckline includes a first end and a second end, the first end being fastened to the second end when the neckline fastener is in the fastened state, the first end being separable from the second end when the neckline fastener is in the unfastened state. 
     
     
         38 . The article of clothing of  claim 37 , wherein the second end includes a covering portion, the neckline fastener being covered by the covering portion when the neckline fastener is in the fastened state. 
     
     
         39 . The article of clothing of  claim 38 , wherein the covering portion is a flap movable between an open state and a closed state. 
     
     
         40 . The article of clothing of  claim 36 , further comprising an additional zipper associated with the zipper track.
