Stackable Frame and Aggregate Top Assembly
Abstract
A stackable frame that may couple to the planar underside of structures and act as support may be formed by vertical downwards and outwards sloping tubular leg members that are connected at their tops by a rigid inverted square tray and at their bent lower parts by outward convex curved pipe members disposed in a plane. In different embodiments, the frame may comprise different member cross-sections and dimensions of the longitudinal members for the support of different embodiments of attachable tops with which different functional objects like tables, chairs and stools may be formed. Aggregate frames may also constitute supports for large platforms or other elevated surfaces. Identical attachable table tops may, in turn, be nested and stacked such that their normally exposed surfaces are protected whilst a stacked configuration.

1 . A frame sized and configured to be innumerably stacked with substantially identical units, the frame comprising:
an inverted square-shaped top tray into which is connected a thick board and on whose rims near its corners are disposed elongated apertures; outwards sloping leg members each comprising a long straight, a double-bend and a short straight segment and with tops that connect near the corners of said inverted tray; curved footrests that connect adjacent leg members at or near said double-bends of the legs; a center attachment in the form of a hollow right circular cylinder on one of whose extended bases is disposed screw holes for attachment to said thick board and on whose inner surface is disposed equally spaced protruding and sloping thread segments; wherein the outwards sloping said legs and the disposition of said footrests on or near their double bends make said frame stackable by the placement of a relatively rotated successive unit onto a forming stack in which specific components of each said frame unit follow a helical path.
2 . The frame of claim 1 , wherein the double-bend segments of the legs are connecting structural nodes that said straight leg segments and footrests connect to.
3 . The frame of claim 1 , wherein the top of said frame comprises corner structural nodes that connect the top of said legs to a central planar frame.
4 . A table that is formed by coupling and locking the frame of claim 1 to an aggregate top, the aggregate top comprises:
a circular planar board on whose underside is disposed oppositely connected pairs of curved skirting segments that are offsetted from its perimeter and which are connected by sunken transitions;
a center attachment that affixes the underside of said circular board in the form of a hollow right circular cylinder with a pointed ring protrusion disposed on its inner face, on one of whose extended bases is disposed screw holes for attachment to said planar board and on whose outer surface are disposed equally spaced thread segments that fit with those on said center attachment disposed on the underside of the top of the frame of claim 1 ;
a corner coupling, three identical units of which may attach to the underside of said circular board and be disposed at three arbitrary equidistant diagonal locations to the center, that comprise a T-shaped profile with a short transverse rod jutting out near the bend on its web and that fits into the apertures at the corners of the rim of the tray of claim 1 ;
a corner locking coupling that is a modification of said corner coupling, that may be attach to the underside of said circular board and be disposed on one diagonal location that is equidistant as those of said corner couplings to the center, that incorporates a locking mechanism;
wherein the said skirtings and their sunken transitions enable identical units to nest and a multitude of nested pairs stacked such that their exposed surfaces during usage are protected in the stack;
wherein the locking mechanism of said corner locking coupling is used to fully couple, or uncouple, the aggregate top to, or from, said frame of claim 1 .
5 . A table as in claim 4 , wherein the aggregate table top is a square board, with oppositely connected pairs of straight skirting segments disposed at offsets from its perimeter and which are connected by sunken transitions, and said corner attachments are disposed on the diagonals of the underside of the board.
6 . A table as in claim 4 , wherein the aggregate table top is a large board of arbitrary shape on whose planar underside is connected multiple sets of said attachments of claim 4 to couple with corresponding multiples of said aggregate frame of claim 1 .
7 . A wall attachment configuration that comprises a wall that said aggregate top of claim 4 hangs on through a wall attachment coupling, the wall attachment coupling comprises:
a hollow half cylinder with an extended outer base plate that attaches to a wall and on the inner surface of whose free end is disposed a trapezoidal cross-sectional channel that said thread segments of said center attachment of claim 4 fits into while rotating in a plane parallel to the wall;
a bulge disposed at the top of an offset base inside the cylinder with a round top matching the inner radius of the center attachment of claim 4 and on which is disposed a triangular cross-sectional channel which matches the shape of the ring protrusion on said center attachment of claim 4 .
8 . A wall attachment configuration as in claim 7 , wherein said wall has a larger surface area and said table top of claim 6 hangs on it through multiples of said wall attachment coupling of claim 7 that attach to the wall.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
