Method and apparatus for video encoding/decoding using a geometric partitioning mode
Abstract
A method for decoding a video includes partitioning a current block into a first region and a second region. The method also includes determining whether the first region utilizes an intra-prediction mode or an inter-prediction mode. The method additionally includes determining whether the second region utilizes the intra-prediction mode or the inter-prediction mode. The method also includes generating intra prediction block for a region that utilizes the intra-prediction mode among the first region and the second region. The method also includes generating inter prediction block for a region that utilizes the inter-prediction mode among the first region and the second region. The method further includes generating a prediction block of the current block, based on prediction block for the first region and prediction block for the second region.
