Abstract
In accordance with at least one aspect of this disclosure, a shooting target mounting system, comprising a mounting tab. In certain embodiments, the mounting tab can include a flat portion configured to be attached to a substrate. In certain embodiments, the mounting tab can include a support shelf configured to support a reactive target. The support shelf can be attached to the flat portion at a shelf fold line and can be configured to bend about the shelf fold line.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A mounting tab for retaining a reactive target to a target substrate, comprising:
a flat portion configured to be attached to the target substrate; and a support shelf configured to support the reactive target, wherein the support shelf is attached to the flat portion at a shelf fold line and is configured to bend about the shelf fold line.
2 . The mounting tab of claim 1 , wherein the flat portion is configured to be attached to the target substrate via one or more staples.
3 . The mounting tab of claim 1 , further comprising an adhesive configured to adhere a portion of the mounting tab to the target substrate.
4 . The mounting tab of claim 3 , wherein the adhesive is connected to the flat portion.
5 . The mounting tab of claim 1 , wherein the flat portion is configured to be attached to the target substrate via only one or more staples or an adhesive.
6 . The mounting tab of claim 1 , wherein the mounting tab further comprises a security flap attached to the flat portion, configured to apply pressure to the reactive target.
7 . The mounting tab of claim 1 , wherein the mounting tab is made of thin, flexible, and/or penetrable material.
8 . The mounting tab of claim 7 , wherein the mounting tab is penetrable by a staple.
9 . The mounting tab of claim 1 , wherein the mounting tab further comprises an alignment portion attached to the flat portion, wherein the alignment portion is configured to indicate where a center point of the reactive target is on the target substrate.
10 . The mounting tab of claim 1 , wherein the support shelf comprises a plurality of flexible wings configured to flex when supporting the reactive target.
11 . The mounting tab of claim 10 , wherein the plurality of flexible wings are configured to conform to an interior shape of the reactive target when contacting and/or supporting the reactive target.
12 . The mounting tab of claim 1 , wherein the support shelf is the same shape as an interior shape of the reactive target.
13 . The mounting tab of claim 1 , wherein the flat portion is configured to be affixed to the substrate without drilling a hole in the target substrate.
14 . A blank for a mounting tab, comprising:
a flat portion; one or more shelf cut lines disposed in the flat portion configured to define a support shelf; and a shelf fold line disposed between the flat portion and the support shelf.
15 . The blank of claim 14 , wherein the one or more shelf cut lines comprise a first cut line defining a length of the support shelf, and a second cut line and a third cut line defining a width of the support shelf.
16 . The blank of claim 15 , further comprising a securement cut line and an extended second cut line, wherein the second cut line, the second extended cut line, and the securement cut line define a security flap, the security flap is configured to apply pressure to a reactive target in contact with the support shelf.
17 . The blank of claim 16 , wherein the second extended cut line and the second cut line form a single cut line and/or are continuous and/or colinear.
18 . The blank of claim 16 , wherein the support shelf comprises a plurality of flexible wings configured to flex when supporting the reactive target.
19 . The blank of claim 18 , wherein:
the one or more shelf cut lines further comprise a fourth cut line and a fifth cut line; the first cut line, the second cut line, and the fourth cut line define a first flexible wing; and the first cut line, the third cut line, and the fifth cut line define a second flexible wing.
20 . A reactive target mounting tab, comprising:
a body configured to adhere or attach to a target substrate; and a plurality of flexible components configured to secure a reactive target to the mounting tab to retain the reactive target to the target substrate.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
