Accessory rail gap reducing mount

Abstract

An accessory mount apparatus for attaching an apparatus to a device by creating a friction fit in a slot of a device. The mount apparatus has features which are movable relative to each other. When the features are moved, they alter a dimension of a mount feature which interfaces with a slot of the device. The mount feature dimension may be increased until excess space is taken up and the mount cannot be moved relative to the device.

1 . An apparatus for attaching an accessory to a device comprising:
 A) a fixed member comprising:
 I) a fixed member cross member configured to be installed in a slot of the device wherein the first member cross member comprises:
 a) at least one parallel face parallel to the slot of the device when the fixed member is installed on the device and 
 b) at least one angled face not parallel to the slot of the device when the fixed member is installed on the device, 
 
   B) a movable member comprising:
 I) a movable member cross member configured to be installed in the slot of the device wherein the movable member cross member comprises
 a) at least one parallel face parallel to the slot of the device when the movable member is installed on the device and 
 b) at least one angled face not parallel to the slot of the device when the movable member is installed on the device, 
 
   C) an adjustment member configured with means to, when actuated, displace said movable member relative to said fixed member, and   D) the distance between at least one parallel face of said fixed member and at least one parallel face of said movable member changes when the movable member is displaced.   
     
     
         2 . The apparatus of  claim 1  wherein said fixed member further comprises:
 A) a side face substantially perpendicular to at least one parallel face. 
 
     
     
         3 . The apparatus of  claim 2  wherein said side face of said fixed member further comprises:
 A) a hole configured to accept said adjustment member. 
 
     
     
         4 . The apparatus of  claim 3  wherein said hole of said side face of said fixed member is wider, perpendicular to said parallel face, than said adjustment member. 
     
     
         5 . The apparatus of  claim 4  wherein said means of said adjustment member configured to, when actuated, displace said movable member relative to said fixed member comprise threads. 
     
     
         6 . The apparatus of  claim 1  wherein said fixed member further comprises:
 A) a side face substantially perpendicular to said angled face. 
 
     
     
         7 . The apparatus of  claim 6  wherein said side face of said fixed member further comprises:
 A) a hole configured to accept said adjustment member. 
 
     
     
         8 . The apparatus of  claim 1  for attaching an accessory to a device further comprising:
 A) means for attaching said fixed member to an accessory. 
 
     
     
         9 . The apparatus of  claim 1  for attaching an accessory to a device wherein:
 A) said fixed member is integral to an accessory.
