Abstract

A stretchable barrier wrap includes an extensible cellulosic substrate having a stretchability of at least 5% and an aqueous polyolefin dispersion barrier layer on the extensible cellulosic substrate.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A stretchable barrier wrap, comprising:
an extensible cellulosic substrate having a stretchability of at least 5%; and an aqueous polyolefin dispersion barrier layer on the extensible cellulosic substrate.

2 . The stretchable barrier wrap of claim 1 , wherein the extensible cellulosic substrate is an extensible paper substrate.

3 . The stretchable barrier wrap of claim 1 , wherein the extensible cellulosic substrate has a caliper thickness in a range of 3 points to 10 points.

4 . The stretchable barrier wrap of claim 1 , wherein the extensible cellulosic substrate has a stretchability of at least 6%.

5 . The stretchable barrier wrap of claim 1 , wherein the extensible cellulosic substrate has a stretchability of at least 7%.

6 . The stretchable barrier wrap of claim 1 , wherein the extensible cellulosic substrate has a stretchability of in a range of 5% to 12%.

7 . The stretchable barrier wrap of claim 1 , wherein the extensible cellulosic substrate has a stretchability of in a range of 6% to 11%.

8 . The stretchable barrier wrap of claim 1 , wherein the extensible cellulosic substrate has a stretchability of in a range of 7% to 10%.

9 . The stretchable barrier wrap of claim 1 , wherein the extensible cellulosic substrate has a lignin content of at least 8%, by weight percent.

10 . The stretchable barrier wrap of claim 1 , wherein the aqueous polyolefin dispersion barrier layer comprises a pigment.

11 . The stretchable barrier wrap of claim 1 , wherein the aqueous polyolefin dispersion barrier layer comprises a clay pigment.

12 . The stretchable barrier wrap of claim 1 , wherein the aqueous polyolefin dispersion barrier layer comprises a calcium carbonate pigment.

13 . The stretchable barrier wrap of claim 1 , wherein the aqueous polyolefin dispersion barrier layer comprises a clay pigment in an amount of at least 50 percent by weight of the total pigment weight.

14 . The stretchable barrier wrap of claim 1 , wherein the aqueous polyolefin dispersion barrier layer has a coat weight, on a dry basis, of at least 0.5 lb/3000 ft 2 .

15 . The stretchable barrier wrap of claim 1 , further comprising a base coat between the aqueous polyolefin dispersion barrier layer and the first major side of the extensible cellulosic substrate.

16 . The stretchable barrier wrap of claim 1 , further comprising a coating, barrier or non-barrier, on the second major side of the extensible cellulosic substrate.

17 . A method for manufacturing a stretchable barrier wrap, comprising:
providing an extensible cellulosic substrate having a stretchability of at least 5%; and coating an aqueous polyolefin dispersion barrier layer on the extensible cellulosic substrate.

18 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the extensible cellulosic substrate has a stretchability of at least 6%.

19 . The method wrap of claim 17 , wherein the aqueous polyolefin dispersion barrier layer comprises a pigment.

20 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the aqueous polyolefin dispersion barrier layer has a coat weight, on a dry basis, of at least 0.5 lb/3000 ft 2 .
