Abstract

An apparatus ( 100 ) includes a foldable body ( 110 ) having first and second body sections ( 112, 114 ) hingedly coupled together at a spine ( 122 ), and a pocket ( 128 ). A first stack of papers ( 140, 150 ) is supported by the first body section and is consumable. A second stack of papers ( 160 ) is supported by the second body section and has a second stack binding ( 162 ) that extends parallel to the spine. Each paper of the second stack is pivotable at the second stack binding. User-observable indicia ( 170 ) and a machine-readable feature ( 172 ) are disposed on a portion of the apparatus. The machine-readable feature is readable by an electronic device ( 174 ) to access a software application or a website. The apparatus is configured to transition between an open state and a closed state in which the apparatus is sized and configured to fit within a clothing pocket of a user.

I/We claim: 
     
         1 . An apparatus comprising:
 (a) a foldable body including:
 (i) a first body section, 
 (ii) a second body section hingedly coupled with the first body section at a spine, and 
 (iii) a pocket presented by an interior side of the foldable body, wherein the pocket is configured to contain at least one article; 
   (b) a first stack of papers supported by an interior side of the first body section, wherein the papers of the first stack are consumable;   (c) a second stack of papers supported by an interior side of the second body section and having a second stack binding that extends parallel to the spine, wherein each paper of the second stack is configured to pivot at the second stack binding relative to the foldable body;   (d) user-observable indicia disposed on a portion of the apparatus; and   (e) a machine-readable feature disposed on the portion of the apparatus adjacent to the user-observable indicia, wherein the machine-readable feature is readable by an electronic device to access a software application or a website,   wherein the apparatus is configured to transition between a closed state in which the first and second body sections are arranged in an overlapping configuration, and an open state in which the first and second body sections are arranged in a non-overlapping configuration,   wherein the apparatus in the closed state is sized and configured to fit within a clothing pocket of a user.   
     
     
         2 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the user-observable indicia and the machine-readable feature are printed on a paper of one of the first stack or the second stack. 
     
     
         3 . The apparatus of  claim 2 , wherein the user-observable indicia comprises a soy-based ink. 
     
     
         4 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the apparatus includes a plurality of machine-readable features each associated with respective user-observable indicia of the apparatus, wherein each machine-readable feature is readable by an electronic device to access a respective predetermined portion of a software application or a website that presents content associated with the respective user-observable indicia of the apparatus. 
     
     
         5 . The apparatus of  claim 4 , wherein the first stack of papers is mounted to an interior side of the first body section. 
     
     
         6 . The apparatus of  claim 5 , wherein the pocket is presented by an interior side of the first body section, wherein the apparatus further comprises a third stack of papers positioned within the pocket, wherein the papers of the third stack are consumable. 
     
     
         7 . The apparatus of  claim 5 , wherein each paper of the first stack includes a plurality of perforations defining a plurality of predefined paper sections, wherein each predefined paper section is configured to be torn away along the perforations. 
     
     
         8 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the first stack of papers includes a first stack binding that is spaced apart from the second stack binding and extends parallel to the spine, wherein each paper of first stack is configured to pivot at the first stack binding relative to the foldable body. 
     
     
         9 . The apparatus of  claim 8 , wherein when the apparatus is in the open state each paper of the first stack is configured to pivot at the first stack binding in a direction toward the second stack and each paper of the second stack is configured to pivot at the second stack binding in a direction toward the first stack. 
     
     
         10 . The apparatus of  claim 8 , wherein the spine comprises a first spine, wherein the foldable body further includes a third body section hingedly coupled with the second body section at a second spine separate from the first spine, wherein the first spine, the second spine, the first stack binding, and the second stack binding are parallel to one another. 
     
     
         11 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein each paper of the first stack has a first paper basis weight and each paper of the second stack has a second paper basis weight different than the first paper basis weight, wherein the foldable body has a third paper basis weight that is greater than each of the first and second paper basis weights. 
     
     
         12 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , further comprising a closure feature configured to releasably maintain the apparatus in the closed state. 
     
     
         13 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the machine-readable indicia comprises a QR code. 
     
     
         14 . A system comprising:
 (a) the apparatus of  claim 1 ; and   (b) a software application, wherein the software application is configured to present to the user content associated with the user-observable indicia of the apparatus.   
     
     
         15 . The system of  claim 14 , wherein the apparatus includes a plurality of machine-readable features each associated with respective user-observable indicia of the apparatus, wherein each machine-readable feature is readable by an electronic device to access a respective predetermined portion of the software application that presents content associated with the respective user-observable indicia of the apparatus. 
     
     
         16 . An apparatus comprising:
 (a) a foldable body including:
 (i) a first body section, and 
 (ii) a second body section hingedly coupled with the first body section at a spine, 
   (b) a first stack of papers mounted to an interior side of the first body section and having a first stack binding; and   (c) a second stack of papers mounted to an interior side of the second body section and having a second stack binding, wherein the first and second stack bindings are separate from one another and are parallel to the spine,   wherein the apparatus is configured to transition between a closed state in which the first and second body sections are arranged in an overlapping configuration, and an open state in which the first and second body sections are arranged in a non-overlapping configuration,   wherein when the apparatus is in the open state:
 (i) each paper of the first stack is configured to pivot at the first stack binding in a direction toward the second stack, and 
 (ii) each paper of the second stack is configured to pivot at the second stack binding in a direction toward the first stack, 
   wherein the apparatus in the closed state is sized and configured to fit within a clothing pocket of a user.   
     
     
         17 . The apparatus of  claim 16 , wherein the papers of at least one of the first stack or the second stack are consumable. 
     
     
         18 . The apparatus of  claim 16 , further comprising:
 (a) user-observable indicia printed on a paper of one or the first stack or the second stack; and   (b) a machine-readable feature printed adjacent to the user-observable indicia, wherein the machine-readable feature is readable by an electronic device to access a software application or a website that presents content associated with the user-observable indicia.   
     
     
         19 . The apparatus of  claim 16 , further comprising a pocket and a third stack of papers positioned within the pocket, wherein the papers of the third stack are consumable. 
     
     
         20 . An apparatus comprising:
 (a) a foldable body including:
 (i) a first body section, 
 (ii) a second body section hingedly coupled with the first body section, and 
 (iii) a pocket presented by an interior side of the first body section; 
   (b) a first stack of papers mounted to an interior side of the first body section and having a plurality of perforations defining a plurality of predefined paper sections, wherein each paper of the first stack is configured to be torn by a user along the perforations to remove a select one or more of the predefined paper sections;   (c) a second stack of papers mounted to an interior side of the second body section;   (d) a third stack of papers positioned within the pocket, wherein the papers of the first stack and the third stack are consumable;   (e) user-observable indicia printed on a paper of one or the first stack or the second stack; and   (f) a machine-readable feature printed on the paper adjacent to the user-observable indicia, wherein the machine-readable feature is readable by an electronic device to access a software application or a website that presents content associated with the user-observable indicia,   wherein the apparatus is configured to transition between a closed state in which the first and second body sections are arranged in an overlapping configuration, and an open state in which the first and second body sections are arranged in a non-overlapping configuration,   wherein the apparatus in the closed state is sized and configured to fit within a clothing pocket of a user.
