Aesthetic method of biological structure treatment by magnetic field
Abstract
In combined methods for treating a patient using time-varying magnetic field, treatment methods combine various approaches for aesthetic treatment. A magnetic field generating device is placed proximate to a body region of the patient. The magnetic field generating device generates a time-varying magnetic field with a magnetic flux density in a range of 0.5 to 7 Tesla. The time-varying magnetic field is applied to the body region of the patient in order to cause a contraction of a muscle within the body region. A second therapy may be used by applying one or more of optical waves, radio frequency waves, mechanical waves, negative or positive pressure or heat to the body region of the patient.

1 . A treatment device configured to apply a time-varying magnetic field to a limb of a patient, the treatment device comprising:
an applicator comprising:
a casing,
a first magnetic field generating coil within the casing, wherein magnetic field generating coil comprises an air core;
a switching device configured to discharge a capacitor to the first magnetic field generating coil such that the first magnetic field generating coil generates the time-varying magnetic field with a magnetic flux density in a range of 0.1 Tesla to 7 Tesla and with an impulse duration in a range of 3 μs to 1 ms; and a blower configured to direct a fluid to the casing to remove heat from the first magnetic field generating coil such that the first magnetic field generating coil is configured to be cooled,
wherein the fluid is configured to be directed between the first magnetic field generating coil and the casing,
wherein the applicator is configured to be placed proximate to the limb, and wherein the time-varying magnetic field is configured to be applied to the limb.
2 . The treatment device of claim 1 , wherein the time-varying magnetic field is generated with a magnetic fluence in a range of 5 T·cm 2 to 60000 T·cm 2 .
3 . The treatment device of claim 1 , wherein the applicator comprises a blower,
wherein the blower is configured to direct air into the applicator.
4 . The treatment device of claim 1 , wherein applicator further comprises a second magnetic field generating coil.
5 . The treatment device of claim 1 , wherein the first magnetic field generating coil is circular.
6 . The treatment device of claim 1 , wherein the applicator comprises a first side and a second side, wherein the second side is opposite to the first side, and
wherein the second side comprises an outlet.
7 . The treatment device of claim 1 , wherein an inner radius of the first magnetic field generating coil is in a range of 1% to 99% of an outer radius of the first magnetic field generating coil.
8 . A treatment device configured to apply a time-varying magnetic field to a biological structure of a patient, the treatment device comprising:
an applicator comprising:
a magnetic field generating coil;
a first side; and
a second side opposite the first side,
wherein the first side comprises an outlet configured to remove a cooling media from the applicator, and wherein the cooling media is configured to cool the magnetic field generating coil; and
a switching device configured to discharge a capacitor to the magnetic field generating coil such that the magnetic field generating coil generates the time-varying magnetic field with a magnetic flux density in a range of 0.1 Tesla to 7 Tesla and with a repetition rate in a range of 1 Hz to 300 Hz, wherein the applicator is configured to be placed proximate to the biological structure, and wherein the time-varying magnetic field is configured to be applied to the biological structure such that electric current is induced in the biological structure.
9 . The treatment device of claim 8 , wherein the time-varying magnetic field has a maximal value of a magnetic flux density derivative in a range of 0.3 kT/s to 800 kT/s.
10 . The treatment device of claim 8 , wherein the cooling media is air.
11 . The treatment device of claim 8 , further comprising a blower configured to direct the cooling media to the applicator,
wherein the cooling media is a fluid.
12 . The treatment device of claim 8 , wherein the magnetic field generating coil is flat and circular.
13 . The treatment device of claim 12 , wherein an inner radius of the magnetic field generating coil is in a range of 1% to 99% of an outer radius of the magnetic field generating coil.
14 . The treatment device of claim 13 , wherein a total magnetic field generating coil surface is in a range of 5 cm 2 to 8000 cm 2 .
15 . The treatment device of claim 8 , wherein the cooling media is a liquid.
16 . A treatment device configured to apply a time-varying magnetic field to a biological structure of a patient, the treatment device comprising:
an applicator comprising a magnetic field generating coil, wherein the magnetic field generating coil is configured to be cooled by a fluid; a switching device configured to discharge a capacitor to the magnetic field generating coil such that the magnetic field generating coil generates the time-varying magnetic field; and a positioning arm configured to position the applicator contactless to the patient such that a biological structure of the patient is inserted into the applicator, and wherein the time-varying magnetic field is configured to be applied to the patient.
17 . The treatment device of claim 16 , wherein an inner radius of the magnetic field generating coil is in a range of 1% to 99% of an outer radius of the magnetic field generating coil.
18 . The treatment device of claim 16 , further comprising a connecting tube configured to be coupled to the applicator,
wherein the connecting tube comprises a fluid conduit.
19 . The treatment device of claim 18 , wherein the fluid is a liquid.
20 . The treatment device of claim 16 , wherein the magnetic field generating coil is flat and circular.
21 . The treatment device of claim 20 , wherein the applicator further comprises a casing,
wherein the magnetic field generating coil is within the casing, and wherein the magnetic field generating coil is spaced from the casing to enable the fluid to flow in a direction parallel to the magnetic field generating coil.
22 . The treatment device of claim 21 , wherein the magnetic field generating coil is configured to be coupled to the casing by at least one fastening point.
23 . A treatment device configured to apply a first time-varying magnetic field to a patient, the treatment device comprising:
a first applicator comprising a first magnetic field generating coil,
wherein the first magnetic field generating coil is configured to be cooled by a fluid, and
wherein the first applicator is configured to be positioned contactless to the patient;
a switching device configured to discharge a capacitor to the first magnetic field generating coil such that the first magnetic field generating coil generates the first time-varying magnetic field with a maximal value of a magnetic flux density derivative in a range of 0.3 kT/s to 800 KT/s and with a repetition rate in a range of 1 Hz to 300 Hz; and a positioning arm configured to position the first applicator contactless to the patient such that a biological structure of the patient is inserted into the first applicator, wherein the first magnetic field generating coil has a winding area in a range of 4 cm 2 to 7900 cm 2 , and wherein the first time-varying magnetic field is configured to be applied to the patient.
24 . The treatment device of claim 21 , wherein the first applicator comprises a first side and a second side,
wherein the second side is opposite to the first side, wherein the second side comprising an outlet configured to direct the fluid from the patient, and wherein the fluid is air.
25 . The treatment device of claim 21 , wherein the time-varying magnetic field is configured to be generated with a magnetic fluence in a range of 5 T·cm 2 to 60000 T·cm 2 .
26 . The treatment device of claim 21 , further comprising a second applicator, wherein the second applicator comprises a second magnetic field generating coil configured to generate a second time-varying magnetic field.
27 . The treatment device of claim 26 , wherein the first time-varying magnetic field is configured to be generated independently from the second time-varying magnetic field.
28 . The treatment device of claim 27 , wherein the first time-varying magnetic field alternates with the second time-varying magnetic field.
29 . The treatment device of claim 27 , wherein the first time-varying magnetic field and the second time-varying magnetic field are generated simultaneously.
