Abstract

A golf training aid comprising a pair of sleeves adapted to be placed on a person's forearms, each sleeve having a body, a proximal end and a distal end, wherein the proximal end of the sleeve is worn closer to a person's elbow and the distal end of the sleeve is worn closer to a person's wrist and each sleeve including one or more pockets, wherein each pocket is dimensioned to fit one or more removable weights which can be added or withdrawn from the pocket as desired by the user of the golf training aid, said weights providing a downward pull on the person's forearms to maintaining straight arms and locked wrists during a putting stroke.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A golf training aid comprising:
 a pair of sleeves adapted to be placed on a person's forearms, each sleeve having a body, a proximal end and a distal end;
 wherein the proximal end of the sleeve is worn closer to a person's elbow and the distal end of the sleeve is worn closer to a person's wrist; and
   each sleeve including one or more pockets;
 wherein each pocket is dimensioned to fit one or more removable weights which can be added or withdrawn from the pocket as desired by the user of the golf training aid, said weights providing a downward pull on the person's forearms to maintain straight arms and locked wrists during a putting stroke.

         2 . The golf training aid of claim 1 wherein each of the pockets runs from the proximal end of the sleeve to the distal end of the sleeve.

         3 . The golf training aid of claim 1 further including an elastic material incorporated within the proximal end and/or the distal end of each sleeve to aid in retaining the sleeve in a desired position on a person's forearm.

         4 . The golf training aid of claim 1 further including one or more zippers which may be opened and closed to insert or withdraw weights from within the pockets.

         5 . The golf training aid of claim 1 further including one or more hook and loop straps which may be secured and released to:
 insert or withdraw weights from within the pockets;
 tighten or loosen the proximal end of the sleeve around a person's forearm; and
 tighten or loosen the distal end of the sleeve around a person's forearm

         6 . The golf training aid of claim 1 wherein each pocket includes additional fabric to retain the weight(s) within the pocket.

         7 . The golf training aid of claim 1 wherein the sleeve is made of an elastic material, such as a compression sleeve.

         8 . A method of training a golfer to use a putter comprising the steps of:
 providing a golf training aid comprising:
 a pair of sleeves adapted to be placed on a golfer's forearms, each sleeve having a body, a proximal end and a distal end;
 each sleeve including one or more pockets;
 wherein each pocket is dimensioned to fit one or more removable weights which can be added or withdrawn from the pocket as desired by the golfer using the golf training aid;

   placing one sleeve on each forearm of the golfer wherein the proximal end of the sleeve is worn closer to the golfer's elbow and the distal end of the sleeve is worn closer to the golfer's wrist; placing one or more weights within the pockets of the sleeve, said weights providing a downward pull on the golfer's forearms to maintain straight arms and locked wrists during a putting stroke; providing a putter and one or more balls to the golfer; placing the golfer in an address area wherein the golfer is holding the putter and addressing the golf ball in preparation to putt the golf ball; swinging the putter backward; swinging the putter forward; striking the ball; and completing the putt.

         9 . The method of claim 8 wherein each of the pockets runs from the proximal end of the sleeve to the distal end of the sleeve.

         10 . The method of claim 8 further including an elastic material incorporated within the proximal end and/or the distal end of each sleeve to aid in retaining the sleeve in a desired position on the golfer's forearm.

         11 . The method of claim 8 further including one or more zippers which may be opened and closed to insert or withdraw weights from within the pockets.

         12 . The method of claim 8 further including one or more hook and loop straps which may be secured and released to:
 insert or withdraw weights from within the pockets;
 tighten or loosen the proximal end of the sleeve around the golfer's forearm; and
 tighten or loosen the distal end of the sleeve around the golfer's forearm

         13 . The method of claim 8 wherein each pocket includes additional fabric to retain the weight(s) within the pocket.

         14 . The method of claim 8 wherein the sleeve is made of an elastic material, such as a compression sleeve.
