Method and system for sharing an item of media content
Abstract
A system and method for sharing an item of media content is described. An exemplary method includes associating a first location with the item of media content at a first mobile device and sending a request to view the item of media content to a second mobile device at a second location. The method includes showing a recipient of the item of media content a simulated journey from the recipient's location to a location associated with the item of media content. The simulated journey includes zooming out from the recipient's location shown on a map, following a path between the recipient's location and the location associated with the item of media content, and zooming into the location associated with the item of media content.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method of viewing an item of media content comprising:
displaying, on a graphical user interface, a simulated aerial journey from a current location of a user to a location associated with the item of media content; and displaying the item of media content.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the simulated aerial journey comprises a first animation stage comprising zooming out from the currently location of the user, a second animation stage comprising following an aerial path between the currently location of the user and location associated with the item of media content, and a third animation stage comprising zooming into the location associated with the item of media content.
3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the aerial path is a direct path between the current location of a user to a location associated with the item of media content.
4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving an invitation to view the item of media content and only displaying the simulated journey if the invitation is accepted.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the item of media content is one or more of text, audio, still image, animation, video footage, or multimedia.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the location associated with the item of media content is identified by identifying a geotag associated with the item of media content, or by identifying Global Positioning System (GPS) coordinates associated with the item of media content.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the current location of the user is identified using a GPS module.
8 . A system of viewing an item of media content comprising one or more processors configured to:
display, on a graphical user interface of a user device, a simulated aerial journey from a current location of a user to a location associated with the item of media content; and cause, on a display, a display of the item of media content.
9 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the simulated aerial journey comprises a first animation stage comprising zooming out from the currently location of the user, a second animation stage comprising following an aerial path between the currently location of the user and location associated with the item of media content, and a third animation stage comprising zooming into the location associated with the item of media content.
10 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the aerial path is a direct path between the current location of a user to a location associated with the item of media content.
11 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to receive an invitation to view the item of media content and to only cause the display to display the simulated journey if the invitation is accepted.
12 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the item of media content is one or more of text, audio, still image, animation, video footage, or multimedia.
13 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the item of media content is associated with a geotag or GPS coordinates, the geotag or GPS coordinates for identifying the location associated with the item of media content.
14 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the user device comprises a GPS module configured to identify the current location of the user.
15 . A non-transitory computer readable medium storing a program causing one or more processors to execute viewing a received item of media content comprising:
displaying, on a graphical user interface, a simulated aerial journey from a current location of a user to a location associated with the item of media content; and causing, on the graphical user interface, a display of the item of media content.
16 . The computer program of claim 15 , wherein the simulated aerial journey comprises a first animation stage comprising zooming out from the currently location of the user, a second animation stage comprising following an aerial path between the currently location of the user and location associated with the item of media content, and a third animation stage comprising zooming into the location associated with the item of media content.
17 . The computer program of claim 16 , wherein the aerial path is a direct path between the current location of a user to a location associated with the item of media content.
18 . The computer program of claim 15 , further comprising receiving an invitation to view the item of media content and only displaying the simulated journey if the invitation is accepted.
19 . The computer program of claim 15 , wherein the item of media content is one or more of text, audio, still image, animation, video footage, or multimedia.
20 . The computer program of claim 15 , wherein the location associated with the item of media content is identified by identifying a geotag associated with the item of media content, or by identifying Global Positioning System (GPS) coordinates associated with the item of media content, and
wherein the current location of the user is identified using a GPS module.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
