Abstract

A secure package delivery receptacle device for securely receiving delivered packages and storing outgoing packages includes a container with a delivery compartment and an outgoing compartment inside the container. Each compartment has a lockable door for accessing the compartment. A camera records video when a motion sensor detects motion in front of the receptacle device, and a transmitter transmits the video wirelessly for a user to view.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
I claim:

1 . A secure package delivery receptacle comprising:
a container including a delivery compartment therein and an outgoing compartment therein, a divider wall being positioned within the container and dividing the delivery compartment from the outgoing compartment, the container having a top wall, a bottom wall, and a perimeter wall extending between and being attached to the top wall and the bottom wall, the perimeter wall including a front wall, a back wall, a first lateral wall, and a second lateral wall; the container having an access opening extending therethrough and into the delivery compartment; an access door being coupled to the container and being movable between an open position exposing the access opening and a closed position closing the access opening; an access lock engaging the access door and the container, the access lock being configured to releasably lock the access door in the closed position; the container having an outgoing opening extending therethrough and into the outgoing compartment; an outgoing door being coupled to the container and being movable between an open position exposing the outgoing opening and a closed position closing the outgoing opening; an outgoing lock engaging the outgoing door and the container, the outgoing lock being configured to releasably lock the outgoing door in the closed position; a camera being configured for selectively recording video being coupled to and facing forwardly from the container; a motion sensor being electrically coupled to the camera and being configured to detect motion forward of the container; and a control circuit being electrically coupled to the camera and the motion sensor, the control circuit being programmed to activate the camera to record video when the motion sensor detects motion.

2 . The receptacle of claim 1 , further comprising the outgoing compartment being positioned in communication with the front wall and being vertically spaced upwardly from the bottom wall, a portion of the divider wall defining a support surface at a lower end of the outgoing compartment.

3 . The receptacle of claim 1 , further comprising the front wall comprising a top portion, a middle portion, and a bottom portion, the middle portion extending upwardly and rearwardly from the bottom portion such that the top portion is positioned closer to the back wall than the bottom portion, each of the top portion and the bottom portion being vertically oriented.

4 . The receptacle of claim 1 , further comprising the access opening being positioned in the first lateral wall.

5 . The receptacle of claim 1 , further comprising the access door being pivotably coupled to the container.

6 . The receptacle of claim 1 , further comprising the outgoing door being pivotable upwardly relative to the container to open the outgoing opening.

7 . The receptacle of claim 1 , further comprising:
the container having a delivery opening extending therethrough and into the delivery compartment; and a delivery door being mounted to the container for selectively opening and closing the delivery opening.

8 . The receptacle of claim 1 , further comprising a transmitter being electrically coupled to the control circuit, the transmitter being configured for wireless communication with a communication network, the control circuit being programmed to selectively activate the transmitter to send a video recorded by the camera to the communication network.

9 . The receptacle of claim 3 , further comprising the outgoing opening being positioned in the middle portion of the front wall of the container.

10 . The receptacle of claim 3 , further comprising:
the container having a delivery opening extending therethrough and into the delivery compartment, the delivery opening being positioned in the front wall adjacent to the top wall; a delivery door being mounted to the container for selectively opening and closing the delivery opening.

11 . The receptacle of claim 6 , further comprising an outgoing handle being attached to the outgoing door and being positioned adjacent to a free edge of the outgoing door.

12 . The receptacle of claim 10 , further comprising a delivery handle being attached to the delivery door adjacent to an upper edge of the delivery door.

13 . A secure package delivery receptacle comprising:
a container including a delivery compartment therein and an outgoing compartment therein, a divider wall being positioned within the container and dividing the delivery compartment from the outgoing compartment, the container having a top wall, a bottom wall, and a perimeter wall extending between and being attached to the top wall and the bottom wall, the perimeter wall including a front wall, a back wall, a first lateral wall, and a second lateral wall, the outgoing compartment being positioned in communication with the front wall and being vertically spaced upwardly from the bottom wall, a portion of the divider wall defining a support surface at a lower end of the outgoing compartment; the front wall comprising a top portion, a middle portion, and a bottom portion, the middle portion extending upwardly and rearwardly from the bottom portion such that the top portion is positioned closer to the back wall than the bottom portion, each of the top portion and the bottom portion being vertically oriented; the container having an access opening extending therethrough and into the delivery compartment, the access opening being positioned in the first lateral wall; an access door being coupled to the container and being movable between an open position exposing the access opening and a closed position closing the access opening, the access door being pivotably coupled to the container; an access lock engaging the access door and the container, the access lock being configured to releasably lock the access door in the closed position; the container having an outgoing opening extending therethrough and into the outgoing compartment, the outgoing opening being positioned in the middle portion of the front wall of the container; an outgoing door being coupled to the container and being movable between an open position exposing the outgoing opening and a closed position closing the outgoing opening, the outgoing door being pivotable upwardly relative to the container to open the outgoing opening, an outgoing handle being attached to the outgoing door and being positioned adjacent to a free edge of the outgoing door; an outgoing lock engaging the outgoing door and the container, the outgoing lock being configured to releasably lock the outgoing door in the closed position; the container having a delivery opening extending therethrough and into the delivery compartment, the delivery opening being positioned in the front wall adjacent to the top wall; a delivery door being mounted to the container for selectively opening and closing the delivery opening, the delivery door being pivotable downwardly relative to the top wall to open the delivery opening, a delivery handle being attached to the delivery door adjacent to an upper edge of the delivery door; a camera being configured for selectively recording video being coupled to and facing forwardly from the container, the camera extending upwardly from the top wall, the camera being positioned adjacent to the back wall; a motion sensor being electrically coupled to the camera and being configured to detect motion forward of the container; a control circuit being electrically coupled to the camera and the motion sensor, the control circuit being programmed to activate the camera to record video when the motion sensor detects motion; and a transmitter being electrically coupled to the control circuit, the transmitter being configured for wireless communication with a communication network, the control circuit being programmed to selectively activate the transmitter to send a video recorded by the camera to the communication network.
