Abstract

A golf dampening system is provided. The system is comprised of two halves each made from a vibration-absorbing material and can be secured around a golf shaft via an elastic band. Each half absorbs vibration from a golf shaft before the vibration is transferred through the grip of a golf club.

         1 . A golf dampening system comprising:
 a continuous first half; and   a band.   
     
     
         2 . The golf dampening system of  claim 1 , wherein the continuous first half is comprised of a first recessed area. 
     
     
         3 . The golf dampening system of  claim 1 , wherein the continuous first half is comprised of a circular shape. 
     
     
         4 . The golf dampening system of  claim 1 , wherein the band is comprised of an elastic band. 
     
     
         5 . The golf dampening system of  claim 1 , wherein the band is comprised of an indicia. 
     
     
         6 . The golf dampening system of  claim 1 , wherein the continuous first half is comprised of a vibration-absorbing material. 
     
     
         7 . The golf dampening system of  claim 6 , wherein the vibration-absorbing material is comprised of a rubber. 
     
     
         8 . A golf dampening system comprising:
 a half-cylindrical first half;   a half-cylindrical second half; and   a band.   
     
     
         9 . The golf dampening system of  claim 8 , wherein the half-cylindrical first half is comprised of a first recessed area. 
     
     
         10 . The golf dampening system of  claim 8 , wherein the half-cylindrical second half is comprised of a second recessed area. 
     
     
         11 . The golf dampening system of  claim 8 , wherein a first interior surface of the half-cylindrical first half is comprised of a first fastener. 
     
     
         12 . The golf dampening system of  claim 11 , wherein the first fastener is comprised of an adhesive fastener. 
     
     
         13 . The golf dampening system of  claim 11 , wherein the first fastener is comprised of a magnet. 
     
     
         14 . The golf dampening system of  claim 8 , wherein a second interior surface of the half-cylindrical second half is comprised of a second fastener. 
     
     
         15 . The golf dampening system of  claim 14 , wherein the second fastener is comprised of an adhesive fastener. 
     
     
         16 . The golf dampening system of  claim 14 , wherein the second fastener is comprised of a magnet. 
     
     
         17 . The golf dampening system of  claim 8 , wherein the band is comprised of an elastic band. 
     
     
         18 . The golf dampening system of  claim 8 , wherein the half-cylindrical first half and the half-cylindrical second half are comprised of a vibration-absorbing material. 
     
     
         19 . The golf dampening system of  claim 18 , wherein the vibration-absorbing material is comprised of a rubber. 
     
     
         20 . A method of using a golf dampening system, the method comprising the steps of:
 providing a golf dampening system comprised of a first half, a second half, and a band;   positioning the first half opposite the second half on a golf shaft of a golf club below a grip of the golf club; and   placing the band around a first recessed area of the first half and a second recessed area of the second half to secure the first half to the second half on the shaft.
