Abstract

The present invention relates to a novel exercise device. The device is a set of lower body exercise equipment that makes use of resistance/tension bands. The device comprises a back support brace component for providing form and bracing for the various resistances. The device also comprises a waist band component that secures around a user's waist and attaches the plurality of tension bands to each leg. Further, the device comprises ankle braces secured to a user's ankles to provide support and tension to the ankles during use. Finally, additional tension bands can be utilized as needed, as well as a cross-ankle resistance band secured between a user's ankles to provide additional resistance and tension to the lower legs.

Claims

What is claimed is:

1 . An exercise device comprising:
a waist band component; a plurality of resistance bands; and a pair of ankle brace components; wherein each of the pair of ankle brace components is secured around a respective ankle of a user; and further wherein the waist band component is secured around a waist of the user and attaches the plurality of resistance bands to the pair of ankle brace components during use.

2 . The exercise device of claim 1 further comprising a back support brace component that can be secured to the waist band component during use.

3 . The exercise device of claim 2 , wherein the back support brace component is comprised of a back panel, a front panel, opposing side panels, and a closure system within the front panel.

4 . The exercise device of claim 3 , wherein the back panel of the back support brace component comprises a support pad.

5 . The exercise device of claim 4 further comprising a cross-ankle resistance band secured between the respective ankles of the user at the pair of ankle brace components.

6 . The exercise device of claim 5 , wherein the cross-ankle resistance band comprises a middle ankle location clip attachment and a heel ankle clip attachment to further secure the cross-ankle resistance band.

7 . The exercise device of claim 1 , wherein the pair of ankle brace components comprise an adjustable strap and a plurality of connecting means for securing the plurality of resistance bands.

8 . The exercise device of claim 7 , wherein each of the plurality of resistance bands comprise an attachment end.

9 . The exercise device of claim 8 , wherein the attachment end is a carabiner that attaches to the ankle brace components and to the waist band component.

10 . The exercise device of claim 9 , wherein at least one of the plurality of resistance bands is a wide resistance band.

11 . The exercise device of claim 10 further comprising a plurality of indicia.

12 . An exercise device comprising:
a waist band component; a back support brace component that can be secured to the waist band component during use; a plurality of resistance bands; a pair of ankle brace components, wherein ach of the pair of ankle brace components is secured to a respective ankle of a user; and a cross-ankle resistance band secured between the respective ankles of the user at the pair of ankle brace components; wherein the waist band component is secured around a waist of the user and attaches the plurality of resistance bands to the pair of ankle brace components during use; wherein each of the plurality of resistance bands comprises an attachment end; and further wherein the attachment end secures to each of the pair of ankle brace components and to the waist band component.

13 . The exercise device of claim 12 , wherein the cross-ankle resistance band comprises a middle ankle location clip attachment and a heel ankle clip attachment to further secure the cross-ankle resistance band.

14 . The exercise device of claim 12 , wherein the attachment end is a carabiner.

15 . The exercise device of claim 12 further comprising a plurality of indicia.

16 . The exercise device of claim 12 , wherein the back support brace component is comprised of a back panel, a front panel, opposing side panels and a closure system within the front panel.

17 . The exercise device of claim 16 , wherein the back panel of the back support brace component comprises a support pad.

18 . The exercise device of claim 12 , wherein each of the pair of ankle brace components comprises an adjustable strap and a plurality of connecting means for securing the plurality of resistance bands.

19 . The exercise device of claim 12 , wherein at least one of the plurality of resistance bands is a wide resistance band.

20 . A method of applying force and tension to different areas of a user simultaneously while exercising, the method comprising the steps of:
providing an exercise device comprising a back support brace component, a waist band component that secures around a user's waist and attaches the plurality of tension bands to each leg, ankle braces secured to a user's ankles, and a cross-ankle resistance band secured between a user's ankles to provide additional resistance and tension to the lower legs; securing the back support brace component and the waist band component around the back and waist of a user; attaching a plurality of resistance/tension bands to the waist band component; securing the ankle braces to a user's ankles and securing the resistance/tension bands to the ankle braces; and performing a cardio workout while simultaneously working out the lower body with the exercise device.
