Barrier garments

Abstract

A barrier garment comprising first, second and third barrier portions for covering parts of the body of a user. The barrier garment provides a barrier between the user and a toilet seat when the user is wearing the barrier garment and the user is sitting on the toilet set. The barrier garment is provided with an opening which allows the user to use the toilet while the user is wearing the barrier garment.

1 . A barrier garment comprising:
 a first barrier portion having a first edge and a second edge which are spaced apart from one another, the first barrier portion being provided with an opening which extends into the first barrier portion from the second edge;   a first attachment arrangement which is coupled to the first barrier portion, the first attachment arrangement being configured to extend at least partly around the torso or hips of a user;   a second barrier portion which is coupled to the second edge of the first barrier portion;   a second attachment arrangement which is coupled to the second barrier portion, the second attachment arrangement being configured to extend at least partly around a first thigh of the user;   a third barrier portion which is coupled to the second edge of the first barrier portion, wherein the second barrier portion and the third barrier portion are positioned respectively on opposite sides of the opening in the second edge of the first barrier portion; and   a third attachment arrangement which is coupled to the third barrier portion, the third attachment arrangement being configured to extend at least partly around a second thigh of the user, wherein the barrier garment provides a barrier between the user and a toilet seat when the user is wearing the barrier garment and the user is sitting on the toilet seat and wherein the opening allows the user to use the toilet while the user is wearing the barrier garment.   
     
     
         2 . The barrier garment of  claim 1 , wherein the barrier garment is a pair of shorts and the barrier portions and the attachment arrangements are respective parts of the pair of shorts. 
     
     
         3 . The barrier garment of  claim 1 , wherein the barrier garment is a flexible planar sheet and the barrier portions are respective parts of the flexible planar sheet. 
     
     
         4 . The barrier garment of  claim 3 , wherein each attachment arrangement is respective elongate portion of the flexible planar sheet. 
     
     
         5 . The barrier garment of  claim 3 , wherein at least one of the attachment arrangements is an elongate strap which is coupled to the flexible planar sheet. 
     
     
         6 . The barrier garment of  claim 1 , wherein each of the attachment arrangements comprises a respective retainer for retaining the attachment arrangement in a configuration in which the attachment arrangement extends at least partly around a part of the body of the user. 
     
     
         7 . The barrier garment of  claim 3 , wherein at least part of each attachment arrangement is plastically deformable such that the attachment arrangement is configured to remain in a deformed configuration to retain the attachment arrangement in a configuration in which the attachment arrangement extends at least partly around a part of the body of the user. 
     
     
         8 . The barrier garment of  claim 1 , wherein the barrier garment is a single-use disposable garment. 
     
     
         9 . The barrier garment of  claim 1 , wherein the barrier garment is at least partly of a liquid-impermeable material. 
     
     
         10 . The barrier garment of  claim 1 , wherein the barrier garment is of a material which breaks down in a sewerage system. 
     
     
         11 . The barrier garment of  claim 1 , wherein the barrier garment is a re-usable garment which is configured to be washed or sterilized for re-use. 
     
     
         12 . The barrier garment of  claim 1 , wherein the barrier garment is at least partly of paper. 
     
     
         13 . The barrier garment of  claim 1 , wherein the barrier garment comprises a line of mechanical weakness which is configured to break when a user exerts a force on the barrier garment above a predetermined level, such that a user is able to tear the barrier garment along the line of mechanical weakness to remove the barrier garment from the body of the user. 
     
     
         14 . The barrier garment of  claim 1 , wherein at least part of the barrier garment is provided with a disinfectant. 
     
     
         15 . A pack comprising:
 a packaging container; and   a plurality of barrier garments received within the packaging container, wherein each of the plurality of barrier garments is a barrier garment according to  claim 1 .   
     
     
         16 . A kit comprising:
 a hygiene product for use in a restroom; and   a barrier garment according to  claim 1 .
