Garment Pinning Device

Abstract

The present invention relates to a garment pinning device comprised of a body having at least one first jaw and at least one second jaw attached to the body and connected via at least one hinge point. The device is used to secure a corsage and/or a boutonniere to a garment, wherein the jaws of the device are preferably spring-loaded to further secure the device to a garment. The shape of each jaw is preferably curved to prevent each jaw from puncturing the skin of a user during the pinning process.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A garment pinning device comprising:
 a body; and   a jaw assembly comprised of a first jaw, a second jaw and a hinge point.   
     
     
         2 . The garment pinning device of  claim 1 , wherein the first jaw attaches at the hinge point. 
     
     
         3 . The garment pinning device of  claim 1 , wherein the second jaw attaches at the hinge point. 
     
     
         4 . The garment pinning device of  claim 1 , wherein the hinge point is positioned externally on the body. 
     
     
         5 . The garment pinning device of  claim 1 , wherein the first jaw is comprised of a first tip. 
     
     
         6 . The garment pinning device of  claim 1 , wherein the second jaw is comprised of a second tip. 
     
     
         7 . A garment pinning device comprising:
 a body; and   a jaw assembly comprised of a curved first jaw, a curved second jaw and a spring-loaded hinge point.   
     
     
         8 . The garment pinning device of  claim 7 , wherein the curved first jaw is comprised of a first pointed tip. 
     
     
         9 . The garment pinning device of  claim 7 , wherein the curved second jaw is comprised of a second pointed tip. 
     
     
         10 . The garment pinning device of  claim 7 , wherein the body is comprised of an opaque body. 
     
     
         11 . The garment pinning device of  claim 7 , wherein the curved first jaw is comprised of a transparent material. 
     
     
         12 . The garment pinning device of  claim 7 , wherein the curved second jaw is comprised of a transparent material. 
     
     
         13 . A garment pinning device comprising:
 a body; and   a jaw assembly comprised of spring-loaded hinge point and a curved first jaw and a curved second jaw that attach at the spring-loaded hinge point.   
     
     
         14 . The garment pinning device of  claim 13 , wherein the curved first jaw is comprised of a transparent material. 
     
     
         15 . The garment pinning device of  claim 13 , wherein the curved second jaw is comprised of a transparent material. 
     
     
         16 . The garment pinning device of  claim 13 , wherein the body is comprised of a metal, a precious metal, a plastic, a wood, a fabric, a natural material, or a synthetic material. 
     
     
         17 . The garment pinning device of  claim 13 , wherein the body is comprised of a transparent material. 
     
     
         18 . The garment pinning device of  claim 13 , wherein the body resembles an animal, a shape, a letter, a number, a symbol, an image, an icon, a scene, an item, a tool, a vehicle, a good, or a food. 
     
     
         19 . The garment pinning device of  claim 13 , wherein the spring-loaded hinge point is positioned internally within the body. 
     
     
         20 . The garment pinning device of  claim 13 , wherein the spring-loaded hinge point is comprised of a spring-loaded hinge.
